Just got back from the show!!! This is by far the best one I've seen yet. In the end, I met Jim, Ruben, Jon, and Al!!!!! I was completely starstruck!!!! All of the band members are really nice people! (I met Steve at my last concert, so I have autographs from everyone!) Before the show, the old intro started playing again. I was expecting technical difficulties, but I think that is just how they test the sound and video. In Yoda, when Al threw the Mic to someone, it ended up dropping, and breaking. He tried to start the Yoda Chant, then realized his mic wasn't working. They quickly got him a new one, and they finished off on a very strong note!!!
Amazing concert. It was pretty funny when the mic broke during Yoda, and I even chatted with the guy who Al threw it to after the concert. The coffee place in Craigslist and the Hava Java on 19th st. I think Al messed up a tad during Another Tattoo by not singing the second "knee". I will have some pictures up hopefully over the weekend.

Better put your hands up and get in the van, or else you'll get blown away!

Yeah, great show. Wish I had had time to stay around and meet everyone, but I've already met them many, many times. Had to drive a couple hours back toward home, so left pretty much after the show. Talked to Dave for a bit, and then left. I had a perfect 2nd row seat. Got a couple looks from Al, especially one, right at the start of the polka. Completely drenched in Nirvana water, as Al threw the water directly at me. There was a tad slip up during TMZ. Everything was back to normal during Craigslist. That surprised me a little, since Al was so creative with it in Charlotte. I figured that it would have even gotten more improvised with two shows from now and then. Anyway, great night and nice to see all my east coast buddies again!
Thanks to Mike and wa27 for updating the alternating song and coffee shop. Let's definitely keep that going in reviews from shows!
So a slightly longer review. Got there around 530 and got a spot in the lot right by the buses. I got out of my car and Bermuda was in the lot so he came over and talked to me for a bit. Nancy called so I had him answer the phone, she was quite thrown by that. She arrived and we all chatted for a few minutes until Jons friends arrived so Nancy and I headed for a restaurant, even though we didn't know where any were. We ended up I'm a place up the street that only served balsamic vinigrette. It wasn't too bad. Dave and Jackie met up with us and we all had a nice time. Went to the theatre and we all had seats in the same area, Dave and Jackie behind me and Nancy across the aisle. I got to see Austin and talk for a few moments. The show went off without a hitch, until Austin dropped the mic and broke it during Yoda! I noticed there was a high pitched yeah or something during WaN, don't know if anyone else caught it. Also during CL he gave a disapproving "mm mm mm" after he said he was on a cell phone call. After the show we met a nice young lady who had an Al tattoo, so there is another of us out there now. We all hung by the bus. Jon came over for a little while and we chatted. He ended up taking pics of all the Al tattoos so he could have them for the book, just in case. It was raining on and off so I wasn't sure if Al would come out, but he ended up staying. I was last in line and I had his four track with me so he could sign it. I walked up and it was in a bag, and he was sort of eyeing it, I guess trying to figure it out. I pulled it out, and he got excited and almost a little Geary eyed. He kept saying that he did alot of things on there and it brought back alot of memories. I told him he can borrow it whenever he wants. After I was done we all hung out a few more minutes and then went our separate ways. Can't wait until Friday when we do it all again.
Talking about music is like fishing about architecture- FZ
The restaurant also had a huge selection of wine. Service was kind of slow because the little guy had the day off. The food was excellent though. Rangerbob was passing out postcards in the lobby. During F2KTV the security guard was taking pictures. Also the other security guard was clapping along at one point. Al sang to Jackie and poked her in the nose. And then held Nancy's hand. I noticed a few minor sound things too, the audio on the videos was slightly off for some clips. Heard the W&N thing too. Ruben also wasn't dressed for W&N. No, not naked, just not in his sweater, but in a black sleeveless shirt instead. And we got a diverse group of characters for TSB. a camouflaged biker scout, TIE pilot, the guy from the Death Star in the black helmet, Chewbacca, and the usual group of biker scouts, stormtroopers, and Vader. First time they ever had Chewbacca and he seemed to be a big hit with the band. Al gave him a hug too.
It on and off rained, but Jim and Jon hung out and chatted and signed autographs for everyone with the one Sharpie in all of Allentown. Al came out and did a signing on the steps of the bus. Good to see Matt and Austin again. Got to meet Katy who said I inspired her to get a tattoo. She's got a sweet one, was nice to meet her. And meet Birthday Girl, if you're out there reading this. Oh, and thanks to Jeremy for finally bringing me my stuff he bought like 10 years ago. And Mike for the random newspaper clipping.
It rained all the way home for those who are keeping track.
Arrrgggghhhh, Al should've known of my freaking BLINDNESS. My clumsy hands were unable to catch the mic and participate wholly in that moment of glory. Reuben chastised me a lot. Jokingly, of course. And I did still SING into that mic, it's just that none of you could hear me. lol
