Houston, TX (Verizon Wireless Theater) 9/23/11

Yeah I just got the email yesterday saying that they had shipped, and I'd emailed them a couple days before and they told me they would ship them soon.

As usual, it was an amazing show. I'm glad that I ended up ordering from PAID and receiving the aisle seats that I'd requested, because Al got less than an inch from my face during WBUL to ask to chew on my butt. Definitely a highlight of the night! We got Frank's, which I was happy about cause he didn't do it here last year. The snotty barista worked at Diedrich Coffee on Montrose, which is in the heart of Houston's gay/alternative district. I really liked the peacock suit in person more than I thought I would, it works in a strange, fluffy way! My friends and I loved our seats, we were in the 8th row in the center section, on the aisle close to Jim. The other two times I've seen the boys, I was sitting on Steve's side, so that was pretty cool.

After the show, my friend James had to leave but my best friend Linda and I quickly made our way to the busses. The theatre staff moved all of us around several times before deciding where they wanted the line to start. We were very surprised to discover that we were standing in front of the same exact people that were next to us in line last summer, so that was a cool little surprise. A little while later, I was sooo thrilled to see Steve come out and start chatting with the fans at the front of the line. A few minutes later, he made his way over to Linda and me. Having only met Al last year, I was so excited to talk to Steve. I told him that this was my 3rd time seeing the guys but my first time getting to meet him. He said that was wonderful and asked for our names. We chatted for a of couple minutes and we each took a pic with him and I got him to sign my Alpocalypse CD. I know so many of you guys have said this before, but I was just so blown away at how sweet and amazing Steve is. I was so happy to finally meet him. A few minutes later, Jim came out carrying some equipment into a waiting van. He waved at us but didn't stop to chat and he and Steve left in the van a couple minutes later.

Al came out shortly afterwards, and security let us up go to him with our respective groups. I said "Hi, Al!" and he asked me how I was doing. I immediately asked him for a hug, and have gave me such an amazing, long hug. Al hugs are just the best!! I was still pretty nervous and giddy, but I don't think I was as shy and stuttery as I was when I met him for the first time last year. Ok, I probably was, but that's all right. I told him what a great show it was and that I was super happy that he sung to me, and he smiled and said "Yes", I think. When I gave him the CD to sign, I told him he could sign on the band photo where Steve had already signed, and he said "What a coincidence, that's where I was gonna sign!" I thanked him again for everything and took a great pic with him before my friend had her turn. It was a special night, and I'm just always so impressed with Al and TBITB and their kindness towards their fans. Thanks, guys.

I loved the show of course. The venue is a little dumpy, IMO, and from where I could see(sitting too far over the left) the place filled pretty well on the low level. At first I was wondering if that would happen. I am not sure about other people, but I thought the audience was a little subdued(definitely more than last year anyway). The merch booth was full as usual, though! I was also pleasantly surprised to get Frank's and I loved all of the new songs live especially Party in the CIA! One of these days I will be bold enough to demand that the fam go with me to the bus and wait

BTW, they did the same thing with the beginning vids that they did in Grand Prairie-play a couple before the show(whether they were testing anything I don't know) but not at show time. I did get some non-crappy pics which I will post later..
