I can't imagine Al did much else besides REST between shows. That was a horribly busy day. I'm not sure how much else he would WANT to do yesterday besides concentrate on the shows themselves.

Yeah he looked really tired after the show, I assumed maybe they were watching clips from the show on Jons laptop but yeah pics makes more sense, I'm looking forward to seeing them if your gonna post them Fred! Saw Steve right after the first show and he remembered me by name, that was cool. He gave me a peice of the guitar Al smashed that was signed and gave a couple peices to other people who were there and then he actually had to go see a doctor 'cause his knee was giving him problems. So I proceeded to the restaurant across the street and ate some stuff with Jeremy and his mom who was very cool to meet, couldn't beleive how many shows she has seen as well, burgers were great. Then I said hi to Bermuda who had just come into the restaurant, talked about the first show a bit and then just after that it was already nearly time for the second show so I went back over to find my seat.
What a racket they're makin', Jack, they keep me up at night playin' their electric guitars!!

Amazing show. We were only at the 8 PM one (good meeting you, Alinite27) but we hung around after and talked to Steve Jay for a while, got his sig on our VIP "passes" as well as Al's. We'll be on a hunt for the rest of the band's sigs next show we see
Anyone know what was up with the first two rows? I thought they weren't going to be filled but they seemed to have people who weren't into the show as much as, say, the third (fourth?) row and back. Industry people?

I saw on Twitter that people from much further back were moved up into the unsold VIP seats to make the place look packed. It would have been fairer to just move everyone forward by 2 rows tbh. That way the most keen would have been front/centerSpoom wrote:Amazing show. Glad to hear such great reviews for these two shows. Can't wait to actually see them. I don't think we'll have to wait that long either since the last live concert DVD was released about a month after it was taped. Does anyone remember what was cut out of the VH1 edit of WAY Live? If they were to cut anything from this concert, my guesses would be Polka Face and most (if not all) of the medley. I know the Disney special was heavily edited, but at least we know it was for taste reasons and time constraints so those cuts actually made some sense.

Yeah, they originally had the first three rows saved for cameras, since they didn't know for sure what seats they would need. Then, when they needed to fill the rest of the seats, they got whoever they could to fill them. As well as, any other seats that were empty. For the first show, they also had to fill Steve's side of the balcony. I think they did take people from further back. Mom even said that she saw them giving away tickets outside the theater.
He was really tired after the shows. I can't even imagine how tiring all of that twice in one day could be. It was so amazing that Wayne Isham was that excited to see me after the shows. I mean, I was just hoping to get a quick pic with such an amazing director. But, I ended up with him complimenting me so much and giving me a huge bear hug. I still really can't believe it. Or can I believe how excited the other TV producers were to see me and that they wanted to do an interview. Along with going backstage, at such a huge show. Knowing that basically we were some of the only people there along with their different families. Such an amazing post-show.
It was interesting when we were going across the Rainbow Bridge into Canada the border patrol person said that just 5 drivers ahead of us, in our same lane, another family of the name Yankovic had passed through. She said that she didn't think that the concert was the reason they were heading over, or not related to Al. But, I thought it was pretty cool anyway, and a possibility.
These were two of the most amazing concerts that I've seen. They should work out really well for the DVD and TV Special. I would hope that it would come out soon, but they can take as long as they need to. I think it's safe to say that this concert film is going to be much, much better than the last under Wayne's directing. Can't wait to see it!

Yeah it was totally worth it thats for sure. There are definitely many places that would have been better but Im sooo glad he chose Toronto, or else I wouldn't have gotten to go..so thanks again AL!!! Steve engaged in long and deep conversations with me and Jeremy before we left, talking about some awesome books and living up in the mountains. He was so cool to talk to for so long. Jeremy got a call from his mom during the conversation and Steve was like "thats your mom? Let me answer!" "Hello?" "How are you?, she thought it was me for a split second then he said, "its Steve the bassman!" I laughed so hard, Steve is the best! Got a couple of his albums from him, and a couple photos, and we left shortly after. So didn't see Jim or Ruben at all exept on stage, figured they'd be backstage but not when we were. Really wanted to tell Jim how incredible he played at both shows but maybe I'll get him next time!

That guy is pretty lame. I don't think he ever heard You Make Me before, I read a review in the paper from an actual fan the following morning when I was eating breakfast next to my hotel. His review was so dead on since like all of us he was a true fan who never "grew out" of al's music, and he had been waiting for a show like this for so long. He reviewed nearly every song and even mentioned everybody from the band! The guy who wrote that interview obviously didn't know the band had been there the whole time and missed out on that part of the show, unfortunate for him. The review I read also mentioned Toronto native Jim Kimo West in it, which I found to be really awesome! That guy knew his stuff. Im gonna try to find it, but I dont remember the name of the paper, I read it real quick and wasn't allowed to take it from the table in the restaurant even though I offered the waiter a dollar, he was like "Im sorry, people ask all the time".

Found a blog from one of the cheerleaders with a write-up of the experience, backstage pics, and video of PTW and Lovr Rehearsal.
