Al's press agent?
Hi everyone, I am hoping someone might be able to help me.
I run a small radio/internet radio/podcast entitled beyond Radio, and, along with playing music from local and unsigned bands, I play quite a bit of rare, odd and funny music. I was hoping to email Al's press agent and ask to air some of his music, but for the life of me I cannot find any contact information. Does anyone around here know who I would get in touch with to request permission for such a thing?
And if you are curious as to the radio show itself (and who wouldn't be? After all its on the internet, you can check it out at http://beyondradio.libsyn.com/rss" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, the last episode had Jonathan Coulton, the Red Elvises and a hundred year old wax cylinder recording from a college quartet. I have a feeling Al's music would fit in just fine with the rest of the stuff I air!
Thanks for any help you can give!

Try Jay Levey at Imaginary Entertainment. A quick Google search will give his contact info. That's Al's manager, he should be able to help you or direct you to the appropriate person.

Facebook needs an updating. Gina Orr's phone line is disconnected and emails to her at Zomba are bouncing. She no longer exists in Al-land. (I see her elsewhere repping a couple of American Idol cast offs, though.)

That's some mad research skillz. I sure couldn't find it with Google. You would think a publicity agent would want to be easy to find.Augiedb wrote:Gina's replacement is Gihan Salem at Jive Records:

Thanks, newbie. I'm not sure why Al would replace his press agent. They looked like they were doing good together, at least from where I was watching.
How old was that last signature? I mean, really?

Re: Al's press agent?
I don't think Gina was Al's employee exactly, but Zomba/Jive's, so it probably wasn't that Al replaced her as that her career situation with the label changed. I'm sure they were doing good together; it's hard to imagine anybody whose job involves working with celebrities not sighing a big happy sigh of relief when the celebrity it's their job to represent is sane, normal, reasonable, polite, friendly Al Yankovic.

Gina Orr actually left Jive Records in order to exclusively manage Crystal Bowersox.JCM wrote:I'm not sure why Al would replace his press agent. They looked like they were doing good together, at least from where I was watching.
