Re: (spoiler) ALPOCALYPSE FULL TRACKLIST!!!!
One thing I'm really going to miss is getting the Behind The Scenes clip on the album, I really don't think there will be another one since it was probably a one time thing just to show how much work went into the songs...but well one thing I really love about it was how close it made you feel to the music, and I swear that each time after I heard those tracks after watching the SOL documentary, well I kept picturing Al in the studio recording each part and picked out so many more subtleties than I had ever caught before.
Hey!
That's another thing that kinda throws me for a loop.
This is the first time that we haven't gotten In The Studio pictures updated on the main site. Well, I really know that Al's been busy and with the way Twitter works, it makes things so much quicker and simpler, I'm sure, but I do also miss being able to look at the process in the groups of photo's for each album, gives a fun idea of what in particular went into each album and track.
Otherwise, I'm hoping we may get some updates regarding that after the album is done, the gallery sure is in need of some updates.

Ok, I see where your coming from, and I agree, since it seems that all parodies may/or may not be all pop this time around, its a safe bet that all originals are going to be rock, and I like your choices for styles parodies, especially Rob Zombiegiantlobsterrobot wrote:I was thinking and realized I would not be shocked if Alpocalypse contained style parodies of either Lisa Loeb, The Beatles, Rob Zombie, Barenaked Ladies, Rolling Stones, or Led Zeppelin... and only a tiny bit surprised at a Hanson style. And the main song that any of these could be would most likely be "If That Isn't Love"... he seems to really enjoy all those bands and hasn't styled anything after them in a commercial release. None of them would really be high in production, which I'm only guessing would be his forwards song. Gotta love speculation.

Bermuda's usually the one to take care of the updates on the Mothership, so it's probably more a matter of not having the time to sort through the best pics yet.
You have quickly thought up such matchless phrase?

And the fact that Al himself has been doing more updates himself via Facebook and Twitter, perhaps he figured it didnt need to be on the website this time around.

A twisted Rob Zombie love song could definitely be a creative one at that.joseyklein wrote:Ok, I see where your coming from, and I agree, since it seems that all parodies may/or may not be all pop this time around, its a safe bet that all originals are going to be rock, and I like your choices for styles parodies, especially Rob Zombiegiantlobsterrobot wrote:I was thinking and realized I would not be shocked if Alpocalypse contained style parodies of either Lisa Loeb, The Beatles, Rob Zombie, Barenaked Ladies, Rolling Stones, or Led Zeppelin... and only a tiny bit surprised at a Hanson style. Actually out of the bands you listed and think the most likely candidate would be Hanson since Taylor Hanson was in the studio recording some piano tracks and Al has hired people in the past to play on songs that are suited to their genre experience. Also, there's the fact that he and Al supposedly wrote a song together, but we don't what is to ever become of that, if it's an Al song, a Hanson song or something we may never hear. This is the song that was suppedly inspired by seeing Brian Wilson in a park. Now that's not necessarily saying that Al's going to do a straight "Hanson style parody", but it could be something that is musically up their alley. I find a lot of their music has a lot of Blues/Soul/old RnB influences, so it could be something in that area of genres.giantlobsterrobot wrote:I was thinking and realized I would not be shocked if Alpocalypse contained style parodies of either Lisa Loeb, The Beatles, Rob Zombie, Barenaked Ladies, Rolling Stones, or Led Zeppelin... and only a tiny bit surprised at a Hanson style. I vaguely remember hearing something like that, but Hanson isn't popular anymore so I highly doubt that there will be any hanson related anything in the future

I wouldn't count them out just because they're not popular. For his style parodies, Al targets artists that he, personally, likes, regardless of their popularity or lack thereof. Just look at "I Remember Larry" or "Albuquerque". I can't even remember the names of those original artists without looking them up.

Good Point, I remember mentioning the Oingo Boingo style parody "You Make Me" to my friends at the bar one time, and none of them even knew who they were
