Re: Al's Pals 2.0
Why do you take issue with my usage of the word "definitely"?
How old was that last signature? I mean, really?

Re: Al's Pals 2.0
Because you used it to describe something that is far from definite. Why do you think it's "definite" that, because the White House invited Seth Meyers to the WHCD that he would therefore invite Weird Al? Just because they are both comedians?

Well, it seemed like a reasonable assumption...

Re: Al's Pals 2.0
There's a headlining comedian at the White House press corespondents dinner every year. This wasn't a new development.
The odds of Al doing it are the same now as they were before. And I say it's a safe bet those odds are slim to none

Re: Al's Pals 2.0
Oh sorry, I meant I wanted him to do the Dinner one day. He's as much as a legitimate comedian than any of them, and he's definitely been around longer.

Re: Al's Pals 2.0
Don't get me wrong. Al headlining the WHCD would literally be my ideal thing to happen... ever. But there is no reason to think that Seth Meyers doing it makes it any more likely. Longevity and legitimacy have very little to do with it.

Weird Al isn't political, unlike Stephen Colbert, Seth Meyers, etc. Like Dingo said: Slim to none.

I'm going out on a limb here: I think it's more likely that Weird Al is inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame than he is ever asked to host/perform at the WHCD.

Re: Al's Pals 2.0
He has certainly played more rock songs than he has told political jokes. I think we'll have to wait until a candidate is elected from the Accordion Party. Which, AFAIK, has not been founded yet.TMBJon wrote:I'm going out on a limb here: I think it's more likely that Weird Al is inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame than he is ever asked to host/perform at the WHCD.

Wouldn't the Polka Party be a better name?
