The funny thing is conversations like these are the reason politics is not allowed on the forum, despite the fact that politics have not been brought up even once other than to say it's "getting too political." As far as I know, overt bigotry is apolitical.

Well, by politics, the administrators probably meant sensitive discussions in general. I know the line between what's defined as such and what isn't is blurry, but I do think what occurred here never should have occurred here, and that we should have just kept our beliefs, political or not, to ourselves.

I don't base everything that I know off of how Al feels. You may and hey, if you can't think on your own...it's your right.

So the ONLY WAY one could ever see gays as people, is if they're blindly following a celebrity. Like civil rights are just some big "trend" or something. WHY do you agree with Victoria Jackson? That's what I want to know. You've been dodging the issue by painting it as "political" or "inappropriate for the forum." But YOU were the one who said you agreed with her indefensible opinion, nobody forced you to say so. And now, if there's any chance of me respecting you as a fellow Al fan/human being, if there's ANY chance of me to continue remaining even the slightest iota impressed by how many shows you've been to, I'm going to need to know WHY. And furthermore, your "why" is going to have to convince me that your position is valid. If you don't think you're up to the task, you may as well cut your losses and live with me considering you a bigot. Which shouldn't be too hard, since I'm dead to you and all.

Why would ANYONE "decide" such a thing, unless it was ingrained in their DNA? Why would ANYONE wish to inflict even more harassment into their lives? Did YOU have to make that decision, and were forced by the rules of "rightness" to be straight?

Anyone who disagrees with you is worthless? My, what a loving, non-hateriffic, thoughtful person. And how humble, to assume naturally that a statement of "You're worthless" from someone who thinks homosexuality is wrong, would mean something to me.

I apologize to the forum for reinstating this unpleasant tangent, and now, if I am truly dead enough to Alinite27 for him to not respond with further insight, I look forward to more discussion of Al's tweets.
