Why would he? It would be redundant to parody a comedy song...TMBJon wrote:Has anyone suggested that Al might parody "Friday" yet? I'm sure he's considered it at least...

It's not a comedy song, it's just being made fun of a lot. You can't honestly say Rebecca Black is all that much worse than Ke$ha or Katy Perry.

I assume so, but I was responding to the intended comment behind the presumed joke.

Well, the whole comedy song thing was the joke, but thanks for the help, anyway.

While I'm in TMBJon's camp as far as thinking "Friday" is really no more insipid than your average pop song, I do agree that since we already got a deluge of (mostly weak) YouTube parodies within a week of it going viral that makes it less likely Al will tackle it. At least as an album track. Surely he'll do something with it in concert.

Wow...I just looked that crappy song up on YouTube. Wow. Horrible. And I like cheesy pop songs usually. I like Bieber. I liked Miley when she was in that genre. But, wow...that sucked. I hope Al doesn't do anything with that. That needs to be erased from human existence to save any more ears from bleeding. Wow. Worst ever.

Re: Next Lead Single
Regarding the already existing plethora of YouTube parodies, Al has already admitted he will never again be the first to parody a song, but I think if Al was going to parody this song, he would do it better than any of them. Really that goes for whatever the lead single may end up being.

Re: Next Lead Single
Anyone want to take a guess as to which song Al recorded a parody of this week?
I am leaning toward "smurf You" at the moment as it's the only truly ubiquitous song on the charts right now by a male artist and seems eminently parodyable.

I don't know. The comedic tone of that song might make a parody seem redundant.
