Laminate holders were noticeably treated with greater courtesy and consideration by theatre and security staff in both Manchester and London.

Okay, then - the question then becomes "if VIP passes don't hold the same privileges as backstage passes, how does someone acquire backstage passes?"

I'll be honest in that I've never bothered with either - if I've waited long enough at every single concert I've been to, I've eventually had the chance to go backstage. This worked for years until last year's Cleveland show. If I wanted to make sure I get backstage, what do I have to do? Listen to the radio station all day long and hope I'm caller 12?

Yeah, sometimes radio stations will give away backstage passes depending on the venue. Only other way is to be a friend of a band member or person affiliated with the tour, venue, etc. Know people.

It was weird, at the beginning of the tour they were out at every show and at the end you didn't see them. They must have been tired

This question comes up during every tour, and it has been answered many times on this forum.

As a metalhead this becomes the story of your life! Yeah, metal shows are the best cuase they are usually in really small venues and the tour bus is easy to spot or you can intercept the members as their coming off the stage. It's all about right place at the right time!! Ive met Cannibal Corpse, Ronnie James Dio before he died and a whole whack of classic metal and hard rock celebrities. Honestly, Al would be awesome to meet but I'd be even more stoked to meet "Bermuda", Jim West or Steve Jay. True definition of the word band!
What a racket they're makin', Jack, they keep me up at night playin' their electric guitars!!

Yeah, I have to agree. I look forward to seeing the band guys, just as much as Al, anymore. Steve's one that I really enjoy hanging out with and I'm honored to know pretty well. I still can't believe that in Orlando last tour he was telling his Mom all about my life, that I was studying to be a Math teacher(Steve's always loved that, for some reason). But, yeah, they're all generally awesome guys.
