It's been a while since I've done this, but here's what I think you do.

Upload it to Wikimedia Commons.

Then change the file name on the Weird Al wiki page where it says:

Code: Select all

|Img = WeirdAlYankovic.jpg

You can also change the caption to add "in concert, 2010" or some such description by changing the Img_capt tag.

I don't see anything exceptionally displeasing about the picture, but I guess it can be improved. I don't know. I don't particularly care for Wikipedia, much less the visual "aid" they have going on in their walls of text.

The current one is not very representative of who Weird Al is. That picture makes him look like a tourist who is awkwardly posing for a fan's picture. The other one Kristine took shows Al in his element. Much better representation for people who are looking him up to immediately know a lot about him.

What's strange is that there was a big discussion battle over it some time ago. People were debating whether to keep the current one or use one showing Al performing on stage. The ultimate decision seemed to have been that the performing picture was somehow inappropriate because a microphone was obscuring Al's mouth (which it was only in that Al was singing into it)...even though it was an infinitely better picture.

What can one say, that site thrives on double standards.
