2/13/11 - Van Nuys CostCo

For anyone considering going to this, when you go into CostCo you just wave your ID card at the guy and he lets you in. No one checks the cards carefully at the door to make sure you're really the right person or that it isn't expired. If you know anyone who is a member, past or present, who is willing to lend you their membership card, you should be able to get in easily. I've done it many times to buy bulk food. The only catch is you have to pay for whatever you buy with cash. Otherwise they ask for your membership card.

Just got off the phone with someone very nice. She said book signing from 1pm till about 3pm (or when the publicist says its over) No wristbands, first come bassis. And you do need a Costo Card to buy the book. Hope to see you all there!

I was going to go The Grove after seeing Al's tweet, but now that I see that there's one in Van Nuys I think I'll go there instead. It's closer to me, and I pretty much hate having to go The Grove for any reason.

I'll probably get there between 12 and 12:30. Now that I dig my card out (I rarely go to CostCo), I'm worried that my membership might have lapsed. I'll bring cash and try to do what Jon suggested (flash the card at the door and purchase the books with cash). I'll be wearing an MST3K shirt. . .if you spot me, feel free to say hi!
