Maria, any word on our Tickets?? I haven't gotten an email and calling these people is like pulling teeth.. Just wondering

NM: called PAID, they were mailed on Monday, should have them Today, she said if we don't have them by Tomorrow and Friday at the LATEST, make sure you call them and they'll make sure there are no problems with your tickets.

Goldstar has tickets for $30 (and about $6.50 in fees), instead of the full price of $60. They're on sale until SATURDAY (not Sunday, the day of the show) at 6pm. I've used Goldstar before and never had a problem. Use this link if you need to join Goldstar to get the offer.

It looks like we've got a sold out show tonight, it should be fun! For anyone wishing to pop by and say "hello" I'll be in row D seat 17 and my friend, Liann will be in 18. It's her first Weird Al concert so she's in for a real treat!

Yay! Let the excitement begin! I know the show starts at 7:00, but does anyone remember (from past years) what time they open the doors at College of Dupage? is it an hour or half hour before the show?

If I was able to post previously, I would have been sure to get your name. The nice woman next to us (who we saw at the Burger King outside getting dinner like us) gave us a few tips. If you post here, thanks!

We were right behind you in E 18 and 19, the guy with the Snoopy shirt and my son in his purple shirt and shorts. His first concert ever and both of our first Al concert. What a great show! Probably not a bad seat in the entire place, but I loved my dead middle, 5 rows back seat. This was an early birthday present for me and I felt like a kid the whole time. So happy he had time and energy to do a meet and greet too. My son said I was shaking with nerves while waiting to meet him.

Not sure if he reads all these threads, but if so thank you from a longtime fan. The picture was the capstone of the best evening I have had in probably a dozen years.

He said you seemed to know every word and were really into the show. Apparently he wasn't looking/listening to me much as I was singing along with nearly every song as well.

You were a fine seat-neighbor :peace:

GREAT show again last night!!!

Eventually left our hotel 30 mins outside of Milwaukee at the check-out time of Noon. Drove on a little ways to Gurnee, and I stopped at Six Flags to use another park up with my season pass. Wasn't that impressed with the park, but it was cool to get to ride a few coasters. While I was doing that, Joe and Anna checked out some different stores along the Grand Ave stretch there. After leaving the park a little after 2, we stopped for lunch at Cracker Barrel. Pretty good meal, and it satisfied us until we could see Al...

Drove on the rest of the way to Glen Ellyn. We found the Park Ave road that led to the College of Dupage and the McAninch Arts Center. As soon as we turned on the road, we saw a sign that said "Glen Ellyn 27,000". Thought that was really cool and drove on to the venue. We got out, filmed some stuff there, and walked over to where the bus was located. Kathy had mentioned on here that there wasn't much of a chance for a meet at all, so I expected the bus to not even be accessible. But, it was just sitting right behind the venue, and was one of the most accessible places I had seen it. Wayne The Bus Driver saw us when we walked over and he came over and chatted a little while before catering arrived for dinner. During our talk, he told us he was pretty sure that there would be a signing tonight. After meeting him, we didn't see anyone other band members wandering and we headed back to take some pictures and video by the Glen Ellyn 27,000 sign. Then, headed back over to the venue and picked up our tickets. As we were heading into the Ticket Office area, we saw Jim outside sitting on a bench. We waved to him and he seemed happy to see us again. The ticket office was really cool here. They didn't make you show ID to pick up your tickets, and all of our tickets worked...even with the 2 discounted $50 tickets. Before they opened up the doors to the theatre, we chatted with some different fans out in the lobby. They were cool. We then left to look at some different art exhibits that they had in the lobby of the theater. They also had some kind of really cool war playground or something. It was interesting.

Entered the theater shortly after the doors opened at 6:30 and found our seats. Pretty good considering they were in the back. Provided a really nice overview of the whole concert experience, as you could see everything on the stage set, along with the video screens with each song. While it wasn't as far back, as some of the overview shows that I have been to. I'm just glad that I ordered these tickets soon enough that all 3 of us got to sit together and we were on the aisle. Although, Anna didn't get Lovr'd up here either...as Al chose the other side. At least, she got sung to at Milwaukee before Al went back up the steps. Really enjoyed the pre-show music tonight, for some reason. With just the 30 mins we had in there, they played my favorite tracks section off of Disc 2. I can't say just how much I LOVE this tour. These shows have been such a memorable time, and some of this music just expresses how awesome these shows are...and especially being with my family for all of these last shows. I had an AWESOME time with Anna and Joe at these two shows.

The alternating songs were You Make Me and Good Old Days. My favorite combination...especially, since Al told me he was basically doing Good Old Days because I requested it on Twitter. It's my favorite Al song, and just unbelievable that I've been able to see it in concert this many times. You Make Me also gets better each time I see it. All the video effects and movements on stage. I love the boneless boy dance...the solos...just such an awesome performance. I think this was a pretty flawless show by Al. During Fat, Steve's bass wasn't working at the beginning. Talked to Ruben after the show, and he said how he wanted to cover Steve's spot in Fat...but, that even he wasn't able to because Al had asked him to go up an octave for the song. Said he used to play it down one. Also, during Saga Begins, Steve tripped on his Jedi robe, and fell on stage. He was so cute after it, though, by pulling his hood up and getting in line with the stormtroopers to hide in his shell for the rest of the song. Talked to Steve a lot after the show, too, about the different things that happened during the show. Also, we wanted to stand up for the encore, but the people in back of us complained and told us to sit down. So, Anna and I moved down to the side of the theatre...right beside of Steve, and then Joe joined us just a little later. That was an awesome decision as we got a lot of looks and smiles from Steve, and even Al...before the mishap with Steve tripping over his robe. We continued to get smiles from Steve during Yoda, and then waves after the concert. I love Steve, he such an amazing guy. It was incredible fun being over on the side together, too...as it felt kind of like the Milwaukee show. In that, we were just by ourselves out on the side, and it kind of felt like a private Al show with us together...instead of being surrounded by other fans. Very fun encore!

The after-show experience was another amazing one last night. We had a 10 hour drive ahead of us after the show, so we weren't sure whether to stick around or not. There wasn't a line, though...as we were one of the first ones out of the theatre. So, we were able to be in the front of the meet line. I'm so glad we stayed around, as it was so enjoyable. Ruben came over and joked around with the line for awhile, and thought about trying to sell a few CDs. Although, he said he didn't have any left. He left for awhile, and then brought some out. I guess he went to burn some more, but he didn't even try to sell those that he had made. He just wound up joking around with people in line. That was fun. Then, Steve came over and spoke to Anna and I, and Joe. We all took pictures with him and just had an awesome time. In my pic with Steve, he took my Al's Brain hat off of me and he wore it. Hilarious picture. Reminded kind of, of the Cowboy Hat time at the Rockford show, that we were getting drunk on Dean's Milk! Steve's ALWAYS a blast to hang out with it, and I'll always cherish the fact that I have that awesome friendship with him. From him bringing his family members at the show around to introduce them to me to the amazing interaction and fun we have together to even just watching us interact from on-stage to the audience...he always makes the concerts such a fun time. A guy pulled up in some kind of futuristic car and Jim and Steve found it fascinating. Steve loved posing with it. It was so hilarious, as Steve was almost bigger than the car. I got a few pics of Steve posing with the car. Right after that, Al came out and sat on the steps. They brought people around from the meet line in groups to see Al around the bus door. That was another really cool part about this meet was the fact that it felt so private. We spent tons of time with Al. I spoke to him about a few different things that happened in the show and we joked about how many times we'd actually seen each other this year. I had him just sign my ticket stub from this concert, and then got an awesome pic with him. I love his eyes in the different pictures. Anna then met him. She said that she didn't have any surprises tonight, and Al seemed so disappointed. She said that she'd have another surprise with her next weekend, and he said that he wished it was that time now...as he couldn't wait. She told him that it wasn't that great, so to not get too excited...but he said he couldn't help it. Al then noticed Anna's "Here She Comes" shirt from Tim and Eric. He asked if he could take a picture of it with his phone, and she obliged, haha...I think it's so awesome that Al loves all of her designs so much. They talked about Tim and Eric and Anna had him sign another flyer that we had printed out at our hotel in Milwaukee that was from a Tim and Eric episode, which Al starred in. Al commented that it looked like the same thing he signed last night, but she said that it was for a friend of hers. They then got an awesome posed pic together. Al was SO CLOSE to Anna, it was hilarious. I love that pic...Then, Anna's brother Joe spoke with Al about different things that happened in the show. He told Al the story of how we wanted to stand up for the encore, especially because WE ALL HAVE CELLPHONES!!! (so come on, let's get real)....but that there was a guy behind us that told us to sit down. We sat down, and then stood up whenever Al asks you to in the song. Joe thanked him for the extra, "I said STAND UP!!!" that Al screamed during Cell Phones, as there were people in the front that were sitting. They then got a cool picture together...and Anna and I told Al that we would see him next weekend! Al smiled...and then waved goodbye to us!!!

I am absolutely loving these post-show meet, especially this weekend with being with Anna and Joe. It definitely made it worth it to stick around, as this was even more fun than the meet at Milwaukee. I can't believe that I only have a few shows left...but, at least being with Anna, it's made it an AWESOME way to end out this 2010 tour!!!

Great description of the show! Ruben after the show was funny. My son said some guy was wandering around, then I told him who it was and he said "but he doesn't have any security!". It's funny how different an Al show vs rock shows. I mean I got out of line once to give a paper to someone who said they didn't have anything for Al to sign and no one objected to me getting back in my spot. Try that anywhere else, from a ballgame to a line at the bank and it won't work. Ruben, pronounced rrrruuuu-ben he instructed us, was such a nice approachable guy. The only band member we didn't see was Bermuda, who my son was looking for for some reason.

The "futuristic car" mentioned was a Delorian, and it played the music from Back to the Future. I talked to the driver after getting my Al signature (I wasn't getting out of line to meet Al for anything short of aliens landing) and he said he lived in the area and when he heard about the show he figured he'd show up to see if the guys wanted a drive around. They did. He had driven Steven around and was waiting on Jim when I got my picture in the car. Was a fun guy and had the exact answer for being there as we had thought up in line when he pulled up - "Why not?"

I can't believe some people told you to sit down during the standing ovation for the encore. It was pitch black and nothing on stage! I managed to get a picture of Steve before the show when I went to my car to put my tour shirt away. It amazed me he was just standing outside of the van with his guitar in the case like, well, a normal person. Even talking to Al, although I probably sounded like a babbling idiot, was really cool as he was just so normal. I've met an assortment of famous folks in my life and nearly all of them seemed so stuck on themselves that I was actually a bit disappointed.

I can't believe how much he moves around in his shows. He has to be exhausted afterwards. I'm guessing the reason he sang a lot of songs with eyes closed was to avoid the flashes from cameras too, as they were popping all over (guilty here as well, although most of mine were non-flash to capture the great lighting). The best two songs for me were Lover because of him wandering around (and I didn't like the song much before, but that's now in my mind every time I hear it) and the Fat song because I couldn't believe he brought out the suit. My son said I was apparently babbling "he's got the suit! he's got the suit!" but I don't recall ;) I took nearly 500 pictures during the show. My wife asked how I could possibly have watched it, but I had the camera set to take 2-3 pics in a series every click after I saw how much movement was happening. That way I can get rid of the blurry ones and still have images to stir my memory. I had to keep going to wide images too since his band gets involved with some of the antics.

Please come back to Glen Ellyn in 2011!

That would be Marty. you know, TorsoBoy.. hehe ;-)

I was taking a ton of pictures too, because I didn't know when I'd see them again, and with our awesome seats, how could you not?? BOTH my batteries died. X* so I was conserving towards the end. I don't know when I'll be able to publish my pictures, as my wonderful laptop decided to get a cracked screen ON my birthday (28th)
