9/3/10 Cleveland, OH TWC Amphitheatre at Tower City

I'll definitely be at this one. I saw Al at this venue back in 2003, and it's OK. Just as it did in '03, the concert will take place during the Taste of Cleveland festival. It makes for a huge crowd and a parking headache, but at least there's a lot of food readily available. I had a couple of problems with this venue in '03: First of all, they never really could settle on the time the concert started. The tickets said it started at 8:00, the venue's Web site said 8:30 and the ads in the paper said 9:00. When I got to the venue, they announced the concert wouldn't start until 9:30, and then they proceeded to start it at 8:30. It was just kind of a giant mess. Secondly, you really don't want to be in the first three rows in this place. I was in the front row off to the side last time, and the stage was so high, I couldn't see the back half of the stage.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm trying not to burn my vacation days as I have a lot of stuff happening in October, BUT I do want to get out east for at least one show this year. Hmmm...[thinking out loud, except that I'm typing instead] I could fly out on Thursday, do Taste of Cleveland and then the concert on Friday, hook up with my cousin Mary Saturday or Sunday, and I get Monday off.....This is doable.

Well, since it looks like Al's not going to be adding a NYC date this year (WHY, Al????), I'm gonna be taking a trip out to Ohio this September. First stop, Cedar Point, second stop, Weird Al concert! I'll be bringing along my Cleveland native friend Kyland, who is an Al virgin.

Anyone know if this is the firm last stop on the US tour?

Looking forward to seeing some people who I haven't seen or talked to in ages. What's it been Diva, about 10 years?

What's wrong Rich? Afraid of going to the Paramount again because they busted you for your video camera 10 years ago? Just go there or Westbury. Seriously.

I got work conflicts with both of those dates (and seriously, security aside, that Asbury Park venue in 2000 was awful. They even put YANKOVICH on the tickets and marquee!). Al's done a NYC show every tour since the first album, so I don't get why he's skipping it this tour. He was supposed to play at Radio City Music Hall on the last tour, but that fell through and then they added a show at the Beacon Theater at the last minute, but I don't see any open dates on the schedule where he'd be close enough to squeeze in a NYC show at this point.

Probably for the same reason he hasn't booked the Greek in LA yet -- he's waiting for the album to actually be out.

Yep, 2000, RWS tour but I don't recall whether I saw you after the first few shows of that year of the tour [i.e. after New London, Easton PA and the Beacon].

Right now this is the only show I plan to fly to for this year, but time will tell.....

Hey, I know there has been talk of us NJ/PA people coming out, and I think I am a 100% on this. Got coverage for my morning, and I just need coverage for the person covering me. Ill be bringing Miss Eva with me, so that'll be fun. Im guessing Ill come out on Thursday afternoon and hit the RocK Hall Friday morning. Ill have more definite info by the end of tomorrow hopefully
