07/31/10 Redmond, OR Deschutes County Fair

If it was Portland or Salem I'd go, but Redmond's too far. Hopefully he'll also come somewhere closer.

I'm considering this one. Jet Blue flies from Long Beach to Portland. I went to the Redmond show back in 2000 and it was a fun spontaneous trip. I especially like it that we are not being milked to pay extra for 'special' seats in a pre-pre sale.

Only potential block to this is that I might be starting to pay a mortgage insead of rent by the end of July.

This seems to be a club-appreciation concert. Meaning, apparently, that you have to get tickets, in person, from a local radio station when they're doing a remote broadcast. If you have friends in Bend, Oregon, do what you have to get them beholden to you!

Seems like you go to the fair that day--enjoying the rides etc then you go and watch the concert....

Yes! I am going to the Deschutes County Fair to see Al! Mostly because we're in the area then. It's closer to see him in Portland, OR--but thought this might be a fun venue. If anyone has been to this fair--please fill me in on details. I do know there is NO reserved seating. THANKS!!

Well I was too busy to go, but according to a tweet from Al there were 9,700+ in attendance!

A couple of my friends from high school were there. He thought it was "too rappy" (obviously he hasn't followed Al's last few albums.) She had a great time. Loved the Fat song, and just generally thought it was a great show. I knew there was a reason I like her better!
