Newbie VIP Ticket Question
I am so stoked that Al is coming to Jacksonville. Me and my 9 year old son are high as kites right now to go check him out. I wanted to do the VIP tickets but wasn't clear if it includes a meet and greet. Most packages like this I've done recently you get all the goodies plus a quick autograph and picture with the band. So my question is will there be a meet and greet included for the $150????

Re: Newbie VIP Ticket Question
No, the VIP Tickets unfortunately do not come with a meet-n'-greet. However, with the concert being at Jacksonville's Florida Theatre...the buses will most likely park right out in front of the theatre. So, there will be a pretty good chance for a meet-n'-greet at the bus. You all will just have to wait around and see.
The VIP Packages should only be $125 for the Florida Theatre, if not cheaper...since the original tickets prices aren't really that high. The VIP Packages come with an autographed 8x10, Limited Edition set of 50 Weird Al Trading Cards w/ 5 Silver Metallic Cards, 3 Weird Al Refrigerator Magnets, and a Collectible VIP Tour Laminate, most likely with a chain as a necklace.

In other words, it's not worth it.

I couldn't tell a dirt clod from a plate of caviar.

Re: Newbie VIP Ticket Question
Haha...I wouldn't necessarily say that. I've ordered two of the VIP Packages: one for Turning Stone and one for the OC Fair. It is kind of misleading, though...as fans would just naturally assume that a VIP Package contained a meet-n'-greet. I know that was a problem a lot last tour. People would be trying to use their VIP Laminate pass, as a backstage pass. Everytime they would be crushed of no meet.

Why did you order it twice? Once you've paid a ridiculously large sum of money for a few novelty items, why do it again?

I'm actually quite glad the VIP package doesn't include a meet & greet. Considering how many years Al's been meeting fans for free, to start selling his face time would, IMHO, not be a step forward in fan relations, No matter how much economic sense it might make for him to do it.

Aftershow/MAG passes shouldn't be something you can just click a button to buy. It's a privilege, not a theme park ride.

Re: Newbie VIP Ticket Question
Wow, not buying tix...talk about a privilege. Only a 100 more shows and millions of photos taken, til I get that?? Haha...I'd rather pay to see Al anyway than have comps. He deserves it. The work to get to all these shows wouldn't feel the same.
Anyway, though...I really do believe that meet-n'-greets should be included in the VIP. It's for those fans that can only make it to one show, and on the off chance that Al wouldn't meet at those shows. They'd do anything to meet the guy. Also, the experience of being around these people, when they find out because they spent money on a VIP, that they wouldn't get to meet their hero...after looking forward to it...killed them.
I think it's pretty selfish of us to say that it's a privilege that only if you have the right to get you should have. I understand putting a price on his time, but just adding a meet-n'-greet into all of the novelty items...the money would be for the novelty items, not the meet-n'-greet. Look, I have got the right and privilege to meet Al many, many times in the past. But, I still would like for those that haven't to have a sure fire way to...if they wanted it.

IIRC He did do paid meet n greets. Didn't he do some eBay thingy for charity?
