2010 SF Sketchfest

Keep in mind these are events happening in San Francisco throughout the week at all different venues throughout the city. Nerdist was listed halfway through that litany, yet he and Al are appearing together. I don't know if they would definitely be in the same room at once, let alone performing together.

Yet it would make a great trip if you were to come visit the United States. If so, I would seriously consider a trip myself...

As of right now, it looks like the only Al event you can buy an individual ticket for is the sitdown with Chris Hardwick at the comedy club. When you go to the tickets page, the UHF showing seems to be offered only as part of a $300. package that gets you in to multiple events at multiple venues over the whole duration of the Sketchfest. There's an individual price listed, but there doesn't seem to be any way to actually buy a ticket at that price. $300 seems a little pricey for a movie ticket, even with Weird Al there in person, since I could really only go for that one weekend. Anybody think they might offer individual tickets in advance later on, or maybe a one-day pass to those venues, or does one have to drive to San Francisco and then take one's chances that UHF won't be sold out? Because, at an individual price of $12 and with Al there, I'd describe the chance of it not being sold out as "fat."

I gotta say, even if Al wasn't there, this would still be worth the price. In my whole life, I've never seen UHF in a proper movie theater, and The Clay Theater is one of those HUGE single-screen theaters, with a balcony and everything, that's been around for decades and miraculously avoided being multiplexed out of existence. It's the kind of magnificent theater we don't have in this country anymore, except in LA's Westwood district and a very small handful in SF.

I live in Dublin (about 30 miles directly east of San Francisco) so I'll definitely have to check into it. Wow, it does sound amazing!

OMG!!! I am so gonna try and get tickets to this. SF is only a little over and hour away from Davis. I was actually just over there a few weeks ago. I don't know about that $300 thing... Sorry, Al, I don't love you THAT much lol. If that's all that will ever be available, I'll be content to wait until summer for the tour. But, if something else comes up and I'm available that day/weekend, I'd for sure go. 'The first horse show of the season isn't until Valentine's Day weekend, so I'm good for any of those weekend dates.

I'm not interested in the midnight movie thing... one, I have to drive home that night, and two, I have the DVD... it's not that exciting to watch the movie AGAIN just because Al is there.
