If nothing was cropped for the VHS then what was it like in the theaters?

Oh. Did the VHS have that little easter egg on the knob of the TV in the menu? I mean did they play that clip before the movie started? I never had the VHS version.

Nope, that Easter Egg was not on the VHS. That was specifically shot to play before test screenings of the film.

Keep in mind, when I say that movies like BTTF (and UHF for that matter) were shot in fullscreen and cropped to widescreen, I mean that they allowed for more headroom, and stuff like that, in every shot so that nothing IMPORTANT would be cropped out.

Alright. I guess that can better explain the framming issues on most early copies of 2 & 3 (which I ended up getting a copy of).

Really I don't care if it's cropped or it has the black bars for widescreen. As long as I have a clear distinguishable picture and they don't crop too much off, I'm satisfied. So widescreen, fullscreen, it's all the same to me. I don't see why everyone has to complain.
