I wish season one of the Justice League TV show was released widescreen. Though it was animated fullscreen, they animated it with widescreen in mind, meaning they would make sure that you would lose very little in the widescreen version. But since season 2 and Justice League Unlimited were done widescreen with fullscreen in mind, they made the DVDs widescreen. Anybody else here like the DCAU?

To circumvent the copy protection, put a piece of Scotch/adhesive tape over the square indentation on the front of the VHS.GuyWhoIsAnonymous @ Apr 19 2008, 10:01 PM wrote: For the smoother quality on bits with digital effects (Town Talk, U-62 Promo, MFN/BH) I may not make a comparison video unless the VHS I have is NOT copy-protected. If I can't, I recommend those with BOTH VHS and DVD copies to compare. Or at least look at the Town Talk logo in the UHF music video and the one in the movie and compare the MFN/BH video to the clip in the movie's DVD.

Fullscreen is slowly fading out with new releases.Grom @ Apr 20 2008, 09:50 PM wrote: Quite frankly, I have no idea why it seems in America that there's fullscreen and widescreen versions of DVDs released. Here, pretty much all DVDs are widescreen ONLY. And I really prefer it that way; then you're not getting what is essentially a VHS on a shiny disc with extra features.

I never buy fullscreen movies b/c I always watch them on my laptop, which is widescreen.
About the DVD-VHS thing, you don't have to make a backup copy of a VHS and have this happen: The menu mixed in with the movie..., twice!
Uh, this is the me from the future. You can ignore all that stuff^. Thanks. Boy, is my face red.

Isn't that just the part in the commentary when Jay asks Al for a donut, or am I missing something?

I'm pretty sure that the BTTF films were all produced widescreen and cropped for full screen. But, I got rid of my VHS tapes years ago in favor for the rather nice DVD set, so I can't really judge.FredHuggins @ April 20, 2008 04:17 pm wrote: That's why the fullscreen versions of "Animal House" and "Back To The Future" are uncropped and look so great on DVD.
