Not a rare movie , but you can be sure this event will sell out double fast anyway

Most of the movies you'll see here are available to buy--that's not the point. It's special to get to see them in a theatre, on a big screen, where celebs introduce them and then stay to visit and have snacks and beer.

I don't think you're familiar with this concept, Jon. It's been a fairly popular thing to do here for a long time. There are all different ways & gimmicks theatres use to make it a fun experience even though you're seeing a movie you could buy and watch at home.

There's a brewery/bar near my house that shows old movies outdoors. It's a lot of fun, but in this case you have to be 21.

I am very familiar with the concept. I just saw one or two comments in this thread about it being a rare movie.

Anyway I'm going to try to go to this. It seems like it would be a fun event, especially with a few other members of this forum. I'll wait until I get my first paycheck from my new job and I'll get the tickets after that. I hope it doesn't sell out in the first two weeks.

And there'll probably be heaps of celebs there...as well as Al and Scott

On CDR tonight Laraine Newman was saying she goes everytime if she can, and I know Al and Suzanne went to the Patton Oswalt one

Okay, well, I guess I misinterpreted your comments in this thread, Jon. Anyway, hope to see you there.

Actually, this group of people called The Movie Show do a series at a local theater called "The Mixed Tape Film Series". It is primarily 80s/90s cult classics. They played the 1986 Transformers movie as a special during the summer, and kicked off the official series with the 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie last night. They really make a show or event out of it as apposed to a standard movie screening. Next week's Karate Kid screening comes with a live karate demonstration. That and a drink for only $5! Wow!

But, don't mind my off topic story, continue with your premise.
