He definitely should not cut the medley. Especially not as a means to "make room for more songs"!! lol

Correction: I never said Al should cut the medley, I only said it was a possibility as to what would be different.

That being said, Al is getting older. We do have to recognize unpopular changes may be necessary, as GWIA originally pointed out with saying SLN is harder on his voice.
You have quickly thought up such matchless phrase?

I would like if he cut the costume changes. Maybe he could talk to the audience between songs/introduce them.

Mix up the set-list like the early days.

Darn right, Al can't cut out the medley...what about the "concert only" parodies?

Also, if Al cut the costume changes, it might lessen the impact and enjoyment of most of the parodies...

I think cutting out the most elaborate costume changes would be fine. That would make it less time between songs. If I were Al, I would be tired of the Fat suit.

I am very much in favor of cutting Fat. I think it would allow for two extra songs when you consider how long that costume change is. The song has definitely run its course in Al's show. What other song has he played at nearly every concert in full costume for over 20 years?

I'm in favour of cutting Fat

'Fat' must stay, if only for the jumping gag, which looks frickin' awesome from the audience, so n00bs who've never seen him live ALways laugh at that, plus they know "Bad" and "Fat," but mostly only we fans know AP.

I vote that he drop "Like A Surgeon" from the set list. It's been there for too long (I know he played it at my 1st Al concert in '84, which means next year, he'd have had it in the set list for 27 years!), and neither the cone bra nor the chainsaw-freakout are funny anymore IMHO.

Plus, I really don't think this is the year he's going to cut an MJ parody. He might even make mention of the passing of a guy who helped his early career so much.

kaztaylor, Amish Paradise is probably a bigger hit for Al in 2010 than Fat is.
kaztaylor, Like A Surgeon was not played during the last tour.
kaztaylor, if your reasoning for cutting LAS would have been how long it's been played, Fat has actually been the song which has been in the setlist longest.
kaztaylor, I can't believe you made a post without linking to the MySpace posting of Al's TwitPic with Patton Oswalt.
