Forgot about this! CNR was the subject of a documentary a couple years ago called "Life of Reilly", which was released just months before he died. I had meant to catch it here in LA, but it didn't work out. Guess I definitely need to track it down now!

(Warning: trailer contains some "R"-rated language.)
Here are a couple random clips of CNR on Match Game, which features CNR doing what he does best:

I must live in a cave, but it's the Chuck Norris thing I would not get. I get CNR as I have been a fan for years. He did the Sid and Marty Kroft show Lidsville(the Kroft brothers did GREAT stuff!).

Look here
Now do you understand what we're talking about?
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:
"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11
So awesome!
Al Team #325

Dos Equis beer basically ripped off this Chuck Norris gag for their "Most Interesting Man in the World" commercials.
Charles Nelson Reilly is more interesting than The Most Interesting Man in the World and Chuck Norris...combined.

Well, the fact that if you saw Charles Nelson Reilly in real life, you would know that there's no way he could "win the Tour d'France with two flat tires and a broken chain", or any of the other superhuman feats the song will undoubtedly feature. In a way, that's what makes this slightly funnier than the Chuck Norris meme, in that Chuck Norris doing that kind of stuff sort of makes sense.Bruce the Duck @ August 01, 2009 09:45 am wrote: Possibly. Similar to the song "What Would Brian Boitano Do" from the South Park movie.
I have a feeling that it won't be too necessary to know who CNR is to get the joke, as long as you get the meme reference.
But I had forgotten about "What Would Brian Boitano Do"! That's almost the exact same song!

YES!!!!!! I was waiting for someone to mention how every single Chuck Norris "fact" can be invariably traced to any of the five awesomely bizarre Bill Brasky sketches from the mid-'90s era of Saturday Night Live.Marko_The_Odd @ August 01, 2009 04:51 pm wrote: But what about Bill Brasky?
Speaking of SNL, if you're kinda lazy and want to get a faint idea of who CNR was, rent their "Best of Alec Baldwin" DVD. I think they have the sketch where Alec imperonates Mr. Rielly in yet another "Inside The Actor's Studio" parody being interviwed by Will Ferrell's always "scrumtrilessant" portrayal of James Lipton (Ferrell and Baldwin were both key players in the Brasky sketches, BTW.)
Also, go on NBC.com or hulu or wherever (y'know what?...the "Actors Studio" and Brasky sketches might be there, too) and look for a sketch called "It's A Match." About a year and a half ago when Shia Laboeuf returned to host, they did a "please don't sue us 'cause we used different names" type Match Game parody in which the panelists just discover as the show begins taping that their host has been murdered. Bill Hader plays a detective who interrogates them only to have them answer is questions in the shows usual format. Pay close attention to Fred Armisen's character. He plays it like a cross between CNR and Paul Lynde.
...and here's another clip that seems eerily prophetic to me...

As for this lyric...
SPOILER Charles Nelson Rielly won the Tour De France with two flat tires and a missing chain...
I think it's a reference to this specific Chuck Norris "fact"...
Chuck Norris has the greatest Poker-Face of all time. He won the 1983 World Series of Poker, despite holding only a Joker, a Get out of Jail Free Monopoloy card, a 2 of clubs, 7 of spades and a green #4 card from the game UNO
There'll probably be much much more...
Isn't it odd how the actual subject of this song turned out to be at least 100x more rediculous and completely wrong than we expected...these "Internet Leaks" just keep coming more and more out of the blue each time?
Life is a bowl of three-legged salamanders swimming around in an infinite ocean of strawberry jello...

*sigh* ok. I love Al, and I love his music.. but it would be nice for him to release a song that doesn't require me to do a ton of research to either A. make it relevant for my kids or B. make it relevant for me. I've never been to the Disney parks, so Skipper Dan was amusing, but I don't "get it".. I love the Doors, but apparently I don't play enough of their music around the house cause the kids had no idea why it was such an amazing style parody, and craigslist seemed like a rehash of Ebay, and this new one.. I love the White Stripes sound and it seems he's nailed it, but I had to go research CNR, and even then, I made no connection with him. I'm not a youngster here cripes I'll be 40 this year, but he's really most famous for his stuff in the 60's and 70's. I was really hoping for subject matter I could really relate to, or that my kids could.
Of course, not saying I want a Spongebob parody *shudder*
