It's as good, if not better, than any other lame speculation.

If this song comes out, and it isn't related to Doctor Who at all, I'm going to laugh my ass off.

Has he ever really done an original about a specific (and real) TV show/movie that wasn't a theme for said TV show/movie though?

Not saying it's impossible but if he did a Dr. Who song I would imagine a parody is more likely.
I'm ranking every Beatles song on my new pop culture blog. Check it out!

Ignoring the parody/original argument, when Al does songs about TV shows or movies, they're ones that the majority of Americans know about. Doctor Who is way too obscure a topic for an Al song. He's as likely to do a Doctor Who song as he is a Blackadder song. Just because it's a topic that you might like Al to parody, that doesn't increase the lilelyhood of it happening. Wishful thinking can lead only to disappointment.

While I think a Dr Who related song is very unlikely for Al to do, I could see him doing a song about the British, since one of his more common themes in recent years is to do a song about a nationality/cultural group (Amish, Jewish, French, Canadians).
