Has he ever really done an original about a specific (and real) TV show/movie that wasn't a theme for said TV show/movie though?
Not saying it's impossible but if he did a Dr. Who song I would imagine a parody is more likely.

Ignoring the parody/original argument, when Al does songs about TV shows or movies, they're ones that the majority of Americans know about. Doctor Who is way too obscure a topic for an Al song. He's as likely to do a Doctor Who song as he is a Blackadder song. Just because it's a topic that you might like Al to parody, that doesn't increase the lilelyhood of it happening. Wishful thinking can lead only to disappointment.
