I'm sure most of us would like to hear from Al what it is though, if he'd like to inform us.algonacchick @ July 14, 2009 12:25 am wrote: *sigh* Fountains of Wayne, I'm telling you! Ok, and Weezer, too. Those are the two that it sounds most like.

I don't listen to Fountains of Wayne, but I do hear Weezer in there.
The acoustic guitar riff is very similar to the opening riff of "Pork and Beans" and the background vocals sound pretty much lifted from "Island in the Sun."

I desperately (well, maybe not that much) hope Al sings this in concert. Perhaps, the first verse would be unlit...only Al's silhouette would be seen, as the band would be perfectly late. When the chorus starts, the lights will go up, revealing Al in a safari outfit, complete with pith-helmet and everything. Then, in the bridge where Al is speaking the "Jungle Cruise jokes" - he could switch up the material and crack different one-liners each show; similar to what the skippers do on the ride.
Hey, if Disney books Al to play a Pleasure Island concert -- how awesome/awkward would that be?

In that case I bet Al would make a point to play this song.

I did liink to just one of their songs. Even if you only listened to a few seconds worth, you'd agree with me. Hey, I listened to Pork and Beans because someone linked to it.

*Nah, I got a memory jolt, and actually recognized the song*
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:
"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11
So awesome!

Pleasure Island doesn't even exist anymore - they closed it last year. But, maybe they'll book him at the Downtown Disney House Of Blues.
After re-listening, I've determined that it is most definitely WEEZER and not FOW - FOW doesn't usually do those background vocal "sha-na-na, na-na-na" shenanigans.

Just gonna stand there and watch me burn...that's alright because I like the way it hurts...
