Man.
Just when I try to dramatically leave the forum...
This news is awesome to me, and I love the sample. Very promising for the full song. Can't wait to hear it.
As to the questions of is it still topical: Yes, it is very topical. Gets more topical by the day, in fact. I am someone who has made a living investigating the ins and outs of the strange interactions that happen as a result of this site exisiting, and I have some REAL horror stories! I have written a screenplay on the topic of people trying to use Craigslist to pick up chicks, and I have personally coordinated strange prank meet-ups all over the site. I hope Al focuses on the strange personal interactions, especially the Casual Encounters section, more than treating it like eBay II.
Regarding the choice for style parody, I say GREAT selection. I'm a big fan of their hits, and I look forward to seeing which styles he sticks with (or can he get multiple Doors styles in the song?). Awesome that a Door collaborated on the song.
I can't say I'm already blown away by this short clip, but the concept is very, very promising. I can't wait to hear the full song.

I couldn't tell a dirt clod from a plate of caviar.
