I agree with anth and Barney Slayer. Neither of these are anywhere NEAR the worst originals in Al's catalogue. Of the top of my head, I can name several originals which are a lot weaker than either of these, including "Callin' In Sick," "Party at the Leper Colony," "Weasel Stomping Day," "Slime Creatures From Outer Space," and most of the originals on "Alapalooza."

But seeing as these are my only two options, I'll have to go with "Gotta Boogie."

Gotta Boogie.

So there's a lot of talk of Alapolooza. Is that considered to be his worst album?

I have a soft spot for Alapalooza...

it was my first album. I'd say Polka Party! was.

The only song on it I'd really say didn't work well for me is "She Never Told Me She Was A Mime." Everything else was pretty enjoyable to me. Even the originals.

However, almost any of the Polka Party! originals just weren't very funny/that good to me. (Except for Dog Eat Dog, Don't Wear Those Shoes... and maybe one or two others.)

I think Gotta Boogie is truly worthy of its potential title ... and I actually like all the songs you mentioned by name.
This means something. This is important.

I don't think it's his worst album, but most of the originals are very weak when compared with the originals on any of the other albums. Then there's the fact that it only has four parodies and two of the originals were ones that we'd all heard before the album came out. There's also the fact that it was such a terrible disappointment when compared with its predecessor, "Off the Deep End." But it's a decent album nonetheless.

Gotta go with Buckingham Blues on this one! I just really don't like that one at all.

And I will agree that Polka Party was IMO the worse album. There just are not very many songs on there that I enjoy. Ususally skip most of them when they come up on my iPod!
