Yeah that is an interesting observation and I think the answer is that it's really hard to compare a polka medley to an actual song with original lyrics, whereas it's much easier to compare a parody to an original song.
For me the enjoyment I get out of the polka medleys is an entirely different type of enjoyment that I get from other songs Al does.
