He who's tired of Weird Al is tired of life.

Another reason someone found to be appreciative of Al:

There's also an Emo Phillips joke on the page.

Had it not been for Al I would be in depression now or out in some tent trying to find myself. THANX AL!

I'm starting the New Year feeling extremely thankful to Al.

I've got a very dear friend whose life in 2002 was, well, a Nature Trail to Hell, involving a divorce court, a juvenile court, an assortment of police and district attorneys, a forensic psychiatrist and two other therapists, and just to put the icing on the cake, a guy who delivered the mind-bending line, "I can't be in a relationship with you because you won't stay out of my personal life."

About the best thing you can say about her year is that no one died, but her family will never be able to all stay under the same roof again. Anyhow, I sent her and her 12-year-old daughter a copy of WAY Live for Christmas. They were snowed in, so it arrived a little late, but she called me this morning to say, "Thanks for the Weird Al tape. It was the most amazing belly laugh. We were rolling on the floor." She particularly enjoyed "One More Minute" (and it's not hard to see why).

And so, I'm feeling very thankful to Al. Cutting through that amount of accumulated wretchedness, and providing 90 minutes of laughter and forgetfulness, is a priceless achievement. QUOTE So shines a good deed in a naughty world.

Okay, make that more than 90 minutes. QUOTE Al is contagious.  On the way home in the car we were both singing snatches of Like a Surgeon and Nirvana and doing a lot of giggling.  So thanks again.

OE, that's great! Al's music is a wonderful diversion in difficult times. Since you are quoting yourself, let me quote myself (from my 9/11 tribute to Al)

QUOTE In the middle of the sadness, I have found an oasis of laughter. \"Weird Al\" has provided a much needed escape from a year that has been difficult in a lot of ways.

Al, if you are lurking, I want to offer a heartfelt thank you. Thank you for putting the world in perspective. Thanks for the laughter. And in a year when there is scandal everywhere you look, thanks for being a decent human being. Did I say an unlikely hero? Not in my book. Thanks Al.

As I approach the 1K mark, let me also say I am thankful not only for Al and the Band but I am thankful for the other Al fans I have met here at WOWAY. I have said it before, but Al fans are some of the nicest people! To be a die-hard, addicted fan, requires that you be attracted to more than the music. Humor, intelligence and an appreciation for decent human behavior all seem to be almost universal traits. Just like the man himself, and the people he seems to surround himself with.

And Whizzi, thanks again for this place to gather and discuss, in painfully minute detail, every aspect of Al's professional (and sometimes private) life. And thanks for a well moderated forum that doesn't allow for the "icky" stuff that you can run into on the 'net.

Happy New Year everyone. It's gonna be a wonder-AL year!

Well, we try not to discuss his private life in painfully minute detail, although we're only human and we slip. I for one am still wondering whether Bela is a boy poodle or a girl poodle, aren't you? :D

Maybe that's part of being an Al fan too: we parody ourselves?

That's a good question for Ask Al when/if he agrees to do it again.

Now that is a fascinating thought.

On this momentous... uh... moment.... of my 1400th post I'd just like to say one thing...

Thanks Al, for all the laughs and all the new friends.

Oh, yeah... In case you all were wondering... I don't have a life :P
