Come on people, don't make this out to be a bigger issue than it has to be.
I'm ranking every Beatles song on my new pop culture blog. Check it out!

I think difference of opinions can make for interesting forum discussion, but a lot of people here just want to yell at anyone who doesn't like something.

But what can I say, I'm a dick. Sorry bout that.

That said: Al's Band can do way better than this.

You're right, they probably can. There's always room for improvement- nobody (or in this case, no band) is perfect. I can't wait to hear what the other song(s) sounds like, and what the lyrics are.

I agree with Stephen, too- the instrumental is cool and makes the download that much more worth the $$.

I agree with Jace. This forum would be awfully boring (and sometimes is) when everyone agrees that X project is awesome and assumes any dissent is unfair. I really enjoy arguing and discussing from all sides the many aspects of Al's career and no one should take any criticism of this song as a personal snub against Al or the Band. I am sure they appreciate the constructive feedback.

Yeah. That being said though, I also agree with the mods. I love a good debate, but not when "it sucks and you all are dumb for liking it" or "it's awesome and perfect because its them" spoils it all. Be human- have an opinion!! But don't be so closed-minded that you can't contribute to a mature conversation.

Ever notice how this discussion comes up EVERY TIME a single song is released? This is one of the biggest reasons why I was opposed to the whole "one song at a time" idea that Al's going with. When there's a whole bunch of songs released at a time, people are more tolerant of others liking some songs and hating others. When it's only one - people are awfully protective and defensive towards opinions that the song is below standard.

Yeah, haven't bought it yet. I was hoping that it would be on iTunes because I have a $25 gift card and I NEVER use iTunes, but its not and right now, I'm saving up for holiday gifts.

Yeah, after this whole thing, even if I did buy it, any post here with a slight bit of criticism would be attacked. Not my idea of a "Family-friendly forum" if we can't even be an "Idea-friendly forum."

+1

I do find it strange though that anyone who repeatedly says that they don't like it is attacked, whereas if someone repeatedly says that it's the greatest song ever recorded nothing is said. Like, at all.

Funny that.
