You know what I thought today? We could get a bunch of people who play instruments (Trumpet, clarinet is already taken
, tuba, and especially an accordion) and put together a sort of Al polka with some of his songs in polka form to be performed there.

...which proves I should read the whole topic before posting. Or maybe the title. Or maybe not be on the forum at 1 AM.

but it's kind of unoriginal IMHO.
that's because it's a parody!
Waynestock? I don't know about that, but Weird sounds enough like Wood to make it a direct parody of Woodstock. I mean ___stock, ___con, ____fest, ____orama, etc have all been done to death as it is. Might as well have a decent pun while we're at it.
Weirdstock.
Well, guys, remember a few pages back when "Alapalooza" was suggested - then shot down as it has been used and gives off the wrong impression and blah, blah, blah?
Anbody else remember that this was the name of the (I believe) Fox Kids marathon from 1996 hosted by Al? Sort of seems to give off the wrong idea, too.

There's a huge difference between a Weird Al album and a quasi-special that happened one morning 12 years ago (which I remember getting up early to watch, but still...)

I remember Weirdstock '96. First thing I though of when I read Weirdstock. Anyway, yeah, I doubt anyone will get the two confused.
I really like the sound of Weirdstock '09. My second favorite is WAYCON, but only if we add the disclaimer, "the Weird Al Yankovic convention" at the end of it, like someone suggested.
What the heck is Waynestock, the Wayne Newton fan convention?

I can bring up "Weirdstock" with Jay (I probably should get his input on it even if I don't have to, just because it's always good to have it, IMO).
Guys, I thing WAYCON is not going to be one of the finalists--sorry, I just can't wrap my head around something that won't be more immediately recognizable as an event having to do with Weird Al. It would be okay if we didn't have any other options that were more recognizable, but we do.
