I should be able to come, and I may be able to lug my accordion along!
Aron-- Only the second accordionist to ever sit in the trunk of Torsoboy's DeLorean. Al was the first.

A costume contest would give me a chance to put together the DTBS costume I've been pondering doing for Halloween but no one would get it: The microwave hat I found online and the Devo jumpsuit. At an Al convention, everyone would--or should--get it!
I couldn't resist--I went ahead and ordered the microwave hat. I figure if nothing else, I'll have something to wear for Halloween next year, with or without the devo jumpsuit.

Stephen, I think you're already committed to wearing the cone bra, aren't you?The Doctor @ October 13, 2008 09:46 pm wrote: I would TOTALLY do that. That's awesome!
BTW, Alicia and I are totally on board for coming to the convention, whatever it is called. Al-topia? Or Weird Al-topia Fanfest 2009 to be more precise. (If Alapalooza is already taken)

A magician wandered along the lonely beach, but no one needed her.

Weird AL-topia is a great one!Magic Salad @ October 14, 2008 09:11 am wrote: Al-topia? Or Weird Al-topia Fanfest 2009 to be more precise. (If Alapalooza is already taken)![]()

Keep the suggestions coming, everyone. ALapalooza's not going to happen. Jay discouraged it because using a name that Al has used previously implies to some people that Al is somehow involved with it. Disappointing, but understandable.

I like Al-topia too!
How about a silent auction to raise money for the Star Fund? Maybe Al and the band will be willing to sign a few things for it and maybe Aron and some of the other talented artists around here can donate some of their work.

Hmmm, Jay has a great point, I can understand where he's coming from, so we don't have people complaining about "where's Al?" sorta thing.
It seems we have come up with some pretty good names! AL-topia's on my top favorites so far...
A silent auction would be a nice way to raise money indeed! I'd so buy Aron's artwork, Ghia's, and anyone else who submitted Al artwork, it'd be great to see what everyone comes up with.

You can call me GEAH (GreenEggs&Ham) or Kat...I'll respond to either one.
