Going by the definition of a parody, this song is actually more of a parody than a lot of Al's songs are.
This song is a direct SATIRE of the original T.I. song, in the same way Smells Like Nirvana, Confessions Part III, and Achy Breaky Song are. A lot of song parodies simply change the words to the original song and create a totally new topic, but this song actually puts a new spin on it. That's what a true parody is.

I honestly hope this 362 times thing is some inside joke or something I'm not in on. That's ostensibly the equivalent of listening to the song for 24 hours straight, non-stop. Even the mere thought of of a person having that little to do with their free time is a little disturbing. The Doctor @ October 11, 2008 05:06 am wrote: EXACTLY!!!
Imagine how I feel after listening to it 362 time? I must LOVE it!![]()

I agree with Stephen on this...
However, I have also listened to this song probably too many times (in fact its playing right now) ... yesterday I had one ear of my headphones in, and was listening to this song while watching TV... O_o.... yeah...
I'm really surprised about all the... I don't wanna say negativity... but harshness about this song!
The shoes Al had to fill after SOL where incredibly huge, and I think he did a pretty darn fine job!!!
I think this song is brilliant... ITs like... "What if T.I wasn't rich, how the heck would he EVER get a girlfriend???" a clever song, that most of us can relate to, about being poor, AND a statment on the economy...
Theres been talk about the song feeling "rushed"... I just wanna SAY, accordiong to Al, W&N was conceived written, recorded, and remastered in a WEEK... Sooo I don't think the amount of time Al spent making it has anything to do with the quality (if Al had said "OH, I've been working on this song FOREVER" would you say the same thing?) Then there's some weird thing about a bass note that I can't even come close to understanding
I think judging Al on the musical quality of the song is rather unfair "Hey, gimme a break! I could only change the words, I couldn't change the MUSIC too!!!"
I don't see what people are saying about this song not being funny! I was like laughing my head off! Then again, I was also in a caffeine induced, sleep deprived, obsessed fangirl state of mind... BUT STILL!!! I mean, like everyone has said, the Washingtons bit is great, but their is so much more... Subtle things like "you could EVEN have the large fries" stuff like that.... It might not have the "OMG LOL" factor that some of his songs have, but I don't think that makes it any less of a funny song... its... more clever I think...
I think a lot of the criticism about this song is mostly just concern about the iTunes thing... "Ohmygosh, If Al is coming out with a new song every week, month (whatever) how on earth can it be quality??" (.... Yes, I know nobody was ACTUALLY saying that
) I think its a great idea, and Al's a smart guy who knows what he's doing... If only the stinkin' iTunes site would work out its problems....
Really, the only two things I don't love about the song are, one, the lack of visual promotion! I understand that Al can't just whip up a music video, but an "album cover" of him doing something... undoubtedly hot wouldn't hurt... but then again that's the Algal side of me
Two, there is no way somebody THAT poor could order pizza!!! I mean, my family isn't exactly ROLLIN' in it, but even WE can't just "Oh, lets get a PIZZA"
... maybe all that napkin hoarding paid off
Anyway, to cut an extremely long story short (to late!!!) I love this song, and think (possibly due to its new promotional means) ts being waaay over analyzed!!!
8.5/10!
(You da man Al!!!)
