Sorry. Her rant just struck me as offensively ignorant in too many ways to count (even if you don't like Obama, it seems a little extreme to go around calling him the Anti-Christ), and I'd thought you'd all enjoy helping me rip her a new one for it. My sincerest apologies.

You may not agree with her, but maybe I do.

Well, if anyone here really DOES share her opinion that Obama is a secret Muslim/harbinger of Satan, then I sincerely apologize for making you uncomfortable with those feelings.

Okay, let's bring this back to topic: how does this affect Al? How do you think he'll react if/when people ask about it? Al clearly doesn't make friends with people based on their beliefs (he's also friends with renowned atheist Drew Carey) - will he be trapped in the middle of a bunch of dogma he has nothing to do with? Am I making it ten times worse? Should I set a good example for Vicky and just shut my enormous stinking trap? Can I borrow five bucks?

And, just curious - what did Victoria Jackson think of "Amish Paradise," a song that hilariously satirizes what happens when people take religion too far?

Mods, if I'm out of line ENTIRELY with all this, you know what to do.

While I agree with your view of this, Fred, it's quite obvious that a lot of people in this forum can't or just don't want to deal with opinions that differ from their own and like to keep themselves sheltered from things that might "offend" them. The mods will most likely put these last few posts in the trash can just for that reason.

But if you look around the web, you will likely find places where free thought and open discussion is more tolerated. Maybe a Gary Coleman forum, perhaps. :P

It's perfectly possible to remain friends with people whose views differ wildly from one's own and are even diametrically opposed. The ability to do this is called Maturity. It makes no difference at all what one's friends think about a particular subject. What matters is what is in one's own heart.

Any kind of notion of "guilt by association" is the fodder of the ignorant tabloid journalist mentality and should be resisted vigorously.. such is the way to mob rule and the thought police.
I thought the whole point of being an Al fan was the ability and freedom to think outside the box?

Why I Leaked It: Ben Folds Comes Clean About His Fake (And Real) New Album, "Way To Normal"

Apparently, he recorded a bunch of silly/crappy songs in one night, and released it as a "leak" of his new album

I think some people hate it because they were told it was a joke. In the end people got free songs and we had something to do on July 11

Hee! He really has some bizarre sense of humor! I love it!

Has Victoria Jackson received one iota of media attention since 1993? I doubt he'll even be aware of her comments unless he happens to read this topic.

Good point. Nobody gives a crud about Victoria Jackson. She's not even a big enough celebrity to appear on VH1.

I wasnt saying that I agree, just playing devils advocate. I understand you have your opinions, I have mine, Al has his and Victoria has hers. I just dont feel it is something to discuss on a Weird Al forum. And yes I do know that it was brought up in the Al's Pals topic, but it seems to me it was brought up as a way for someone to vent their own anger against her. Again, I respect that you have your opinions, but I still dont feel it should have been brought up here.
