Is AL-TV returning or did you find a nice interview? Just tell the folks here.

Well, when they go on sale, you can always e-mail the Rifftrax folks and find out if they can offer international shipping. I mean, they accept Paypal and seem to be a pretty accommodating operation, so I can't imagine why they wouldn't at least look into it for you.

Attention San Diegoianites! According to "San Diego CityBEAT," there will be a free screening of "Jurassic Park" with its respective Rifftrax at the Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens in Escondido on September 24 at 8PM.

Since this is at what looks like little more than a glorified bar, one must be at least 21 to get in, just an FYI.

I'll update the Tourography with all this info, but there isn't much more to it than that. And of course, if anyone wants to go there to represent Make the Rock Hall "Weird," shoot me a PM.

Thanks for the heads up, Greg. I have friends in San Diego who will find that interesting!

Has anyone ordered the Rifftrax poster? I forgot about it, just placed my order this morning.

Mine arrived last week after a small shipping error. Overall it's pretty nice, maybe a bit smaller than I would have liked it to be (it's a little bigger than a Rand McNally atlas), so perhaps "mini-poster" better describes it.

And speaking of Rifftrax products, they're also offering DVD-R discs with a collection of MP3s already burned onto them, and "Jurassic Park" is on one called "The Blockbuster Pack"...for those who like things in a tangible form, I guess.

I went. I must be nuts, to go from Long Beach to Escondido on a week night just to hear Weird Al make fun of a movie. Okay, I AM nuts, but I'm okay with that. :D

Confession: I never saw "Jurassic Park" before tonight, so I got to see it for the first time while it was being hilariously mocked. Excellent. Just excellent.

BTW, it's a VERY glorifed bar. Actually a full-on, fairly large-scale craft brewery with what looked like a very interesting bar & restaurant with a rustic/nature theme: lots of glass, big granite boulders & big plants in the middle of the dining room, which opened out onto a patio, and then down some stone steps into the large sunken garden where the seating for the movie was (on whatever folding chair or blanket you happened to bring). They showed a bunch of other Rifftrax shorts too, including the educational film from which Al got the "nerd in the hallway" scene in "Crimes of Carelessness." And the pale ale was excellent. A fun night, and I got home by 12:30.
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.

:great: Glad you went and enjoyed yourself.
I think it's cool that they showed that.
If it hadn't been at a brewery, and not in Escondido (yech... no offense to anyone actually there.) I would have gone.
Silence will fall.

Helen, I love that you went - it sounds like fun.

Still waiting for my posters, hope there wasn't a shipping error on my order as well!

Sounds like a really nice set up. Wish I had gone--I kept trying to justify going, since it's only a 20 minute drive for me, but couldn't, since I had seen it already through Rifftrax.

I like the small size of the Rifftrax posters. I was lucky to be able to buy them at the Rifftrax booth at Comic-Con and have Mike Nelson (and then later Al) autograph them.

I indirectly hung out with the MST3K guys (and gal) at the Archon sci-fi and fantasy convention Oct. 3-5 in Collinsville, IL. They were a great bunch of guys and were very approachable. They also showed the original pilot during a Q&A session. It was a lot of fun. I was going to ask about the Rifftrax session with Al but couldn't get in with the time allotted.
