People are saying he should drop Pentiums (and I agree) because it feels extremely dated. A chunk of the computer terms aren't used anymore other than to "look back" or for "remembering way back when". Yes, it is great when played in concert, but feels too dated to keep in the set list any longer.

Not a chance. Al markets his concerts to casual fans/general public as much as he does to the core fanbase. "Fat" was one of his few BIG hits that most people in the general public knew. "Pentiums" barely got any media attention at all by comparison. Al would be a complete fool to drop "Fat." "Pentiums," on the other hand, could easily be dropped.ludovica64 @ Jul 13 2008, 08:48 PM wrote: He should drop Fat NOT Pentiums... remember a lot of people who buy his stuff are ladies. and I know which Id rather look at
He already has two other, more successful rap songs in the set list - "Amish Paradise" and "White and Nerdy." With his recent success with rap parodies, it's logical to assume that the next album will feature at least one big rap song, which means a rap song will probably be cut - and "Pentiums" is the most logical choice. Especially since performance-wise, it's pretty much the same as "Amish Paradise" just with different costumes.

Ok that was a reasonable argument until you got to this bit...Bruce the Duck @ Jul 14 2008, 02:33 AM wrote: .....Especially since performance-wise, it's pretty much the same as "Amish Paradise" just with different costumes.

No, it's actually quite true. Al paces back and forth, singing. Both songs, the same thing. Okay, there are some different hand gestures that he does, but it's pretty much the same. Same thing can be said for the "Couch Potato" performance. The most original rap performance that he does is the one for "White and Nerdy."
