Yeah, unfortunately it looks like I'm out. As much as I'd love to see this show, 3-4 hours in each direction on a work night is too much for me right now. I also just had a pretty bad concert experience over the weekend (Infected Mushroom at Webster Hall in NYC....worst venue I've ever been to!), and from what's been said, the AC HOB is run pretty poorly as well. Have fun everyone!
What does Al have against performing in NYC? He's been here ONCE in the last 6 years!

I'm likely gonna have a bad time, Apparently, Al's company from his Website sold my Dad, Mom and I standing room seats, My mom hates to stand, So she's probably going to leave, My Dad has a leg problem, So he can't stand longer than a half hour, And me, I got thrown out of the House of Blues for another concert 3 years ago that my parents dragged me to, But they had to leave for the same reasons as posted above, But I got thrown out due to the fact, the guard said "You Are Not Older Than 18, And Don't have an Adult" So I just left anyway, Probably another bust

Make The Rock Hall Weird!
Ok guys, I'm gonna be at the venue entrance tomorrow around 4:00pm (On the boardwalk side!) collecting video footage for a Weird Al documentary for the "Make The Rock Hall Weird" (allthingsyank.com/rockhall for more info). All you have to do is come by, say hi, sign your name, and tell the camera why you think Al deserves to be in the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame. It is a super easy, super fun way to show your allegiance to Al and help a worthy cause. If your camera shy, or don't know what to say, I'll help you out with a few tips.
I will be wearing a "Make the Rock Hall Weird T-shirt" and be standing next to a camcorder on a tripod. I won't be easy to miss. All your help in this would be greatly appreciated. The more the merrier. If you could PM me ahead of time saying you'll be there, that would be awesome, but showing up unannounced is fine too!
Thanks for all your time and help!
-James

Just got back into the Ramada after the show tonight a few minutes ago. Great show, great experience. Saw a lot of people again, and nice casino.
Got into Atlantic City around 2. Caught the late shuttle around 2:40, and got into the Showboat just a little after that. Went and saw where the concert was going to be, and went down the escalator and out to the boardwalk. Was out there for a little while, and decided to eat at the House of Blues restaurant, as my aftershow passes were not there yet. They also have "pass the line", which if you ate at the restaurant you could get into the show early. Did that, and it was around 5. Went outside and say J out there with the Rock Hall camera. He told me he had already interviewed a couple people...I went ahead and took my shot, just to help out. I think I did poorly, though...I'm not good with that stuff. I then went inside, and the aftershow passes were finally there. I picked up the pass that Jim had left for me, and said my goodbyes to them, and went up and got into the VIP line. I had seen Teri and Dave before the show, good friend of mine and my mom's, heading down the escalator. Had to go back down and get my camera, since I had a pass, they would let me take it in...I just couldn't take any pictures during the show. Around 7, they opened the doors, and I got the same spot I had in Richmond for the standing room only...right in front of Steve.
The concert eventually started about 8:01, and was one of the best concerts I've seen. Steve & I still played together during the show, with him being amazed at my impeccable timing...as he told me in Richmond...lol. In Close But No Cigar, right near the ending a few notes were missing. There was a minor word flub in Saga Begins, and also in Saga Begins..he had the whole crowd sing the last chorus..while he kind of conducted. That was pretty cool. No stormtroopers, however. In I'll Sue Ya, I got 1 bill..and then a bunch after the show. He did Why Does This Always Happen To Me? tonight. Pretty normal show, albeit great with my spot. The only problem I ran into with the Standing Room Only was one crazy guy that eventually got thrown out of the building. He was nuts, and should have been thrown out sooner. He was right behind me, and kinda scared me a little, even though I knew I could hold my own. It was intersting, anyway. That's the one thing about following Al around is how my different places they play. I mean, five days ago, I was at a state park in the backwoods of Louisville, two days later I was at a zoo, and then three days after that was in a huge casino, in a huge place like Atlantic City. It's really interesting.
After the show, I had my pass, so after gathering as many I'll Sue Ya bills that I could, I made my way over to where people were meeting. Teri and Dave came over and said Hello after looking at the merchandise stand. There were talking to me inside, when a security guard told them they had to leave, since they didn't have passes. In a little bit, I was inside meeting Al. That was an incredibly good time, he remembered me...we discussed some previous memories from my 50 shows, got a pic, talked some more and then left. Didn't get to see anyone else in the band, however..unfortunately. When I got outside, Teri and Dave were talking to my mom. Spent some time with them, and then called for the shuttle. While waiting for the shuttle, mom told me that she had met the "Elvis"Dave. He had came to see her before the show, and talked a little, afterward. I was going to try to go find him, but our shuttle was coming quickly, so just decided to go out to the front. He had said he saw me in the front row, and that I was catching up in concerts with him. That seems unreal, since he was the whole reason, this idea of tourchasing actually came up to start with...and for him to thank I'm following in his footsteps..I think is amazing. Our shuttle soon came, and it was a night. I got my ticket signed, a pic...great conversationg with Al...all thanks to Jim, wish I could have seen him...oh well, got to meet him and Steve after the show last night.
Really fun time in Atlantic City, we chose everything right this time..and it was such a nice day out on the boardwalk and with Al...can't wait for maybe Baltimore, if I go, or at least, Verona.

Awesome show tonight. I saw Dave and Jackie briefly before the show. I had a front row seat in the balcony, which actually wasnt that great. I had a railing right in front of me the whole time. But I was camera happy for this show. I did almost 300 pics. Ill sort through them tomorrow. Al rewrote I'll Sue Ya. When he got to the Ben Affleck line he said "I sued Ben Affleck, Cause I... Aww do I even need a reason?" And in SB he said "Maybe cutting us a little slack" And there was also a weird beat at the end of WBUL. It looked like Bermuda was pissed. He kept motioning that it wasnt him, then he was pointing to Rubens side of the stage, so I dont know if he was blaming Ruben or not, I'm not sure what happened there. After the show I got to go backstage and meet Al. I had him sign my leg. Then I told him that his PortaStudio is in a good home. And he said "Oh thats you? Thats so great. My wife was glad to get it out of the house." And I said that I was glad to get it into mine. Then I said my goodbyes and went on my merry way. Ill have pics up tomorrow.

It was him and a couple of others right? I think I know who you were talking about. The one guy they threw out spilled drinks in front of me as he was leaving. Luckily I was a step back and made it to the floor.Alinite27 @ Jul 10 2008, 05:41 AM wrote: The only problem I ran into with the Standing Room Only was one crazy guy that eventually got thrown out of the building. I will write a full review tomorrow but what a great night!!
Jeremy the reason you didn't see the band, is cause the piddly non-pass people stole them! Ha ha! I got a pic with Steve, and both Steve and Jim were nice enough to let my friend run to his car, grab his guitar, and they both signed it for him. I will show pics tomorrow. Nice seeing forum people, and maybe I'll meet the rest of you at some point. Btw Minnick I saw you in the front row at the end, but didn't make my way down to see you in time.
Well goodnight everyone.
