Congrats on the passes, Ryan! :yay:

Yeah, I'm really sorry I didn't get to see anyone. I must have been in the wrong area. I gave up about 10 minutes before the concert started.

Praise goes to Vikki for the unexpected pass for Ryan!
I've not had passes yet at any show I went to. Perhaps I should plan further in advance. :P
(I just got really lucky last year. I didn't feel like taking the chance at annoying my mother this time. <_< This is why I would have rather have gone with my friend. )

I'm home now... and kinda tired. I'll write a more "official" blog about the show tomorrow.

Highlights:

-Arrived at 4:30, and the plan was to go hang with Kimo before the show
-Will Call didn't have the guest list until about 6:30, waited outside until then
-While waiting around, others showed up to join us, including Al's cousins and other family members, and Mike Nelson (Mystery Science Theatre) with his son.
-Got tickets to fair and photo pass, but no aftershows
-Kimo handed them to me over the fence at the Grandstand Arena
-Waited around for concert to start
-Took many photos with my new lens
-Aftershow stuff, Kimo, Jon, Al's family, Al, Suzanne, and Nina

MIKE NELSON?!! Damn! I was looking for him, hoping he'd be there. I guess I just missed him :(

Yay, Ryan! I'm so happy for you! That was nice of Vikki to give you a pass. Cool!

Stephen, so sorry you didn't get to meet up with an WOWAYers, and that your brother is a pain. :P

Kristine, uber envious, as always. Al's cousins? How cool is that? And Mike Nelson! That's just so cool! Looking forward to a more detailed report.
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

14 kinds of donuts in Albuquerque... I mean, there would have been 14 kinds of donuts if they weren't all out of them.

I was up on the terrace and not near anybody I knew, with a table all to myself (no, I don't have excruciatingly severe... ) and I brought my binoculars, so it was sort of virtual front row.

Good show as always. The screw-up that left people with aftershow passes waiting outside the gate meant that I had more time to hang with the other fans, especially Kevin & Cid. But I'm glad that they all got in finally.

Got home at 1:30. I expect to fall over sideways sometime today and take an inapprpriately-timed nap. I'm overdue. :P But it was a WAY fun weekend.

I was surprised Al didn't do the "Song restart" in Albuquerque, but I assume that's a strain, so no big deal that it was omitted.

Well Tony & I were there, we had a table in the first row of the tables. It was awesome! I saw Kevin, Cid, Vikki, and I'm pretty sure I saw Kristine.

I must say that this venue was a nice change from Ventura where the theater might as well have been an oven.

Oh yeah... the things you see with binoculars...

I hope Al gets that hole in his Amish pants mended soon...
