Oooh, thanks for the alert Patti. I so need to tape that when it's on again later this morning
You have quickly thought up such matchless phrase?

Yeah, I saw that. I figured I could use those six hours more constructively, though, like for sleeping or petting a cat.

It's 90 minutes. At least, this segment is...
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

You're probably right, but that's a line partially lifted from somewhere else, and I'm sure it feels like six hours once you get into it anyway.

If anyone is interested in hearing interviews with some of Al's heroes and pals, go to this page and you can hear interviews with Stan Freberg, Tom Lehrer and Emo Philips. There are some other comedian interviews too. Have fun with them!

Al's pal and fellow demented artist Bill Mumy has a new album coming out July 1st. Its not a Barnes and Barnes album, just Bill's straight music. BUt here is an interesting anecdote from the recording session.

Weird Al came down the other Saturday and played on several tracks. He is an amazing musician and a really nice guy. The parking was a bit hectic that day, and Al and Bill had to park around the corner from the studio.  Now, it just so happens, a medical marijuana place recently opened a few doors up from us. Saturdays are a busy retail day over there.  Lots of folks coming and going.
While walking to the studio, all sorts of guys hollered at Al, "Hey Weird Al, I'm a musician, too", and "Hey Weird Al! What's up?", etc. etc. Al, carrying not one, but two large accordions (what else?), long hair flying in the wind, was gracious with everyone, as always.

I posted about this last night in the "Important Interviews" stickied topic. It looked to me as though, although there are several CDs being cooked up by Mumy & Friends, the one Al played on is by Sarah Taylor. I think she was the one writing that blog (because "Bill" is referred to in 3rd person).

Maybe we should just buy everything to be safe. :Y
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.
