I haven't heard anyone else mention this, so pardon if this isn't new information.
I was going through some old VHS tapes today, and for one reason or another, I had recorded the 12th American Comedy Awards show from 1997. I was just browsing through some of it, and I came across an award presented by Carol Liefer and Ray Romano. They did a bit referring to Romano's sitcom doing better in the Nielsens than Liefer's show. Carol then showed clippings of the Nielsen ratings surrounding her show. Her show, Alright Already, came in at #104, followed by #105: Boy Meets Hand, #106: When Jews Attack, and #107: Touched By An Uncle!
I couldn't help but think of the coincidence of Ray Romano being part of that skit, and Weird Al mentioning Touched By An Uncle right before Everybody Tolerates Raymond in Couch Potato. Was this already noted before?

No, I don't think so. Must be one of those examples of Comedic Convergence that happen sometimes. It's not inconceivable that Al might have borrowed that bit, but if he had, he'd have thanked Liefer or Romano or both in the PH liner notes.

I don't know about Liefer's show, but Al's "Touched by an Uncle" was meant to be a spoof of "Touched by an Angel". I don't know if Liefer was doing the same or not, but I highly doubt Al purposefully borrowed the joke from her. It would make an interesting Ask Al question, though!

Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.
