I was thinking that too, like he was trying to hype up the hosts by using a popular, recognizable artist in Al as a contrast...implying that they are better.

I've never seen FotC, but I know Al's music, and no one contemporary compares to him. The only comparison to Weird Al for me is Alan Sherman; my Grandfather would play his records for me.

I was hoping someone would say (write) this. I was wondering that too. Hall & Oates had mainstream popularity and plenty of songs ripe for Al to parody, but to my knowledge, none exist.

There is a concert only food medley song called Spameater from back in the day, but yeah. There should've been a full fledged H&O parody....they were pretty durned popular back then.
You have quickly thought up such matchless phrase?

Oh, yeah, Spameater! I guess only having a brief parody included in the fabulous food medley wasn't enough, and gave Darryl a case of moldy tangerines. Nothing like holding a grudge for 20+ years.

4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

Well to be fair, it's not like Al hasn't been holding a grudge for that long on an 80s celebrity

:P

Um, I don't think the Prince problem is Al holding a grudge. It's Prince being a wimp.

It kind of makes me want to join the OTHER Daryl Hall fan forum (there is one, on their website, but you have to join to even read the posts and I wasn't willing to compromise my integrity that way) and post extensively about the virtues of long curly hair, accordionic virtuosity and a sense of humor.
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.
