BTW, how can I get a backstage pass to meet Al in person?
You need to know someone one the band/crew to get a backstage pass. Westbury typically has a lot of record label folks that tend to get the passes that are available, from what I have heard.

HOWEVER....you don't really NEED one at Westbury...you just need to wait! Westbury is nearly a sure thing for a post show unofficial meet n greet as there is.

Should I wait right outside the entrance of the theatre or do I have to wait somewhere specific?

If last year was any indication--you won't be able to miss it--but you go find the buses around back and wait there.

Be prepared to WAIT though-it can be hours. Plural.

yea, they let about 10 people in at a time, i was close to the front of the line last time so it wasnt long for me, but let me tell you, Al likes to talk to you when you meet him. It was sooo awesome finally being able to meet him last year. They allow 1 autograph and 1 picture for everyone...at least they did last year.

I apoligize for my on-going and annoying questions, but what is the usual waiting time for people to meet him? Is it very common for people who don't have passes to meet Al specifically in Westbury?

I have never had a pass to Westbury, and I've met him after the show both times I have been there. I have friend who have been to multiple Westbury shows and call it a sure thing--I would not say that you have a 100% chance of meeting him--if he's sick, or the schedule is wacky, then you may not. But Westbury has a VERY high hit rate

I forget how long a wait we had last time--it seemed like about forever. It was probably 2 hours, maybe more (probably more) after the show. We ended up not leaving until 1 am, but a group of us also hung out and horsed around after saying hello to Al.

Westbury's about as sure of a thing as you can get. He's played there every year he's been on tour since 1996, and he's done a public meet and greet each time since at least 1997. I've been to seven of the eight shows he played there. The only one I missed was 1996, so I can't vouch for that one. It's the traditional show for all the New York City based record label people to attend, so obviously he meets them first. You should expect to wait at least an hour until he get through all of the pass holders before he makes the decision to see fans or not.
