I always recommend earplugs (not the cheap ones, make sure they are rated to block around 30dB.) at any concert, no matter where you are sitting. If you want to be able to enjoy music your whole life, wear them every time. I guess you can relate it back to the "use it every time" for that other issue.

Don't tease me like that Fred!
Anything I might have said is just my 2 cents. Feel free to keep the change.

I came across this tantalizing snippet in a blog. Any chance there might be something to it?

I'm interested in that if I can get the time off work...highly doubt I'll be able to, but if by some small tiny shred of luck I can, count me in. I'm up in Minnesota by Lake Superior, but I'd make the trip to the Chicago area in a heartbeat...shoot, after University Park, I'll do anything...that was a LONG drive. 8)

About the blu-ray issue, yeah, I agree with you KnottyEmily...even though I don't want to. :P But one can hope, right?

Hahaha!
Well, No, HD-DVDs do not play on regular players.
And yup, that's about the only reason to get a PS3.. Blu-Ray.

I'm teasing, of course.

I dunno if any real changes in the setlist are necessary... this tour is pretty much perfect. Cell Phones/Albuquerque wins. Maybe this time Al could vary the shows up more (like Bob?WDTAHTM). For example he could do Close But No Cigar some shows and then replace it with Virus Alert at others.
i emailed jim and he said that there would be a 2008 tour

I guess any thing's possible, but two things immediately stand out that make me skeptical. According to the AZ State Fair website, the actual fair isn't until October and November, which is far outside the July and August dates that Al confirmed. On top of that Al played at the AZ State Fair last year on October 16. Perhaps the blogger is looking at last year's schedule thinking it's for this year?

Very possible. And on further reflection, a July or August outdoor concert in Phoenix would probably be a ghastly experience (maybe not so much for the audience, it's after dark and they get to sit more-or-less stil, but certainly for the performers).

"Weird Al" Yankovic Live! Straight Outta Lynwood Tour

QUOTE"Weird Al" Yankovic: Live! v2.0

How about "Live Outta Lynwood?" ALthough that makes it sound like the footage was shot there. It would, however, be fun to have an Al release we could just call LOL. (They all make us LOL.) LOLcats would take on a whole new meaning for us.

Regarding the earplug debate..keep in mind that after years of exposure to concert-level noise, Pete Townshend now has severe tinnitus, which means he hears a constant ringing noise 24/7 and has difficulty hearing normal levels of sound. It is prudent for all concertgoers (and all musicians) to use earplugs at every concert to prevent permanent hearing damage.

And no, earplugs don't keep you from hearing the show. If anything, they help you hear only the music. If you're worried they'll fall out, don't (modern earplugs are squishy foam that expands in your ear canal, so you probably don't need to worry.)

I want a new live DVD ASAP!!! :whoot:
Praise AL!
