I'm not sure who loiuetheweaselfaceddogboy quoted in this post, regarding a song co-written by Al called "Romancing the Toad", but that couldn't be the Sadgasm parody, since it is a parody of a song called "Romancing the Stone", written by Eddy Grant. *You all may remember Eddy as an Al target. He wrote "Electric Avenue"* Anyway, Eddy wrote "Romancing the Stone" for the movie of the same name. The song was scrapped. So, yes there really is a song called "Romancing the Stone" and no, "Romancing the Toad" is not the Sadgasm parody, since the original song is probably about 20 years old. Also, "Romancing the Stone" has more of a reggae sound. Kinda doesn't fit with the grunge sound.
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:
"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11
So awesome!

I loved it. I think Hank even mentions that "Al had one song and blew his brains out."Supermeat2005 @ Jan 26 2008, 04:22 AM wrote: Ya, I remember that King of the Hill episode...
Back before I was an Al fan (dark times indeed) that qoute had actually convinced me that Al was dead...
Also, as I recall, in the episode "Texas City Twister", Peggy mentions how they had "better get going, before that dang Dr. Demento starts stinkin' up the airwaves", or something close to that...
Anyway, back on topic, do you guys think that Al actually wrote the parody in the show or that it was just the writers?
Kind of offensive to victims of suicide. I liked that episode though.
That's what you get when you let your heart win.

Well, technically, Hank said "Weird Al Yankovic-h blew his brains out in the late '80's when people stopped buying his records..."
Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing Al on The Simpsons, and hearing this new song, even if Al didn't write it. I liked Homer and Marge, so I'm sure I'll like this one, too.

I quoted TheLazenby post about Romancing the Toad in the Music section of WOWAY.
I wasn't really sure if that was the Sadgasm parody or not.
Personally, I would think that "The Simpsons" crew would have written the song - but Al may have had some input on the song (why I thought his credit would be there).
I didn't think "The Simpsons" writers were lazy enough to have somebody write music for them (though that does sound like something Homer would do...).
I knew the name "Romancing the Stone" sounded familiar. I own a VHS copy of the movie (plus, its just three paces away from my computer desk I'm writing on).
I just wanted to see if maybe there was a connection between these two things.
Well, I guess there was only one. And that's just Al.
