My poem is going to seem shabby and poorly constructed compared to yours, Karen, but here goes:

On the 23rd of October, 1959,
Someone special was born.

A parodist, accordion player,
An all round great guy.

He makes us laugh,
Hes one funny man.

He had a poodle named Bella,
A cockatiel named Bo.

His wonderful wife, Suzanne,
Whose smile lights up the room.

And dont forget, Nina,
Born to fantastic parents.

Straight Outta Lynwood, Poodle Hat,
Just some of his great works.

His concerts are a must see,
The thrill of a lifetime.

With video clips and costume changes,
He keeps us all amazed.

Oh, the awards he has won,
Grammies and Gold Records.

Lets not forget a special number,
Close to his heart.

A day before his 7th birthday,
An accordion lesson did he receive.

Now the accordion is his weapon,
He yields it in concerts.

UHF,
What a glorious film.

Why?
Because hes in it!

A vegetarian,
He is.

The tragic incident,
That seems so long ago.

How we all felt for him,
How we still do.

And this person,
This one special person,
Is Alfred Yankovic. Our idol. Our hero. Our everyday lives. To Al, we love you.

T. Is for all the TALENT that Al has in him.
U. Is for all the UNUSUAL music Al plays.
V. Is for being VANMOST of all other comedy musicians.
W. Is for the WEIRDNESS inside of Weird Al.
X. Is for the XYSTER Al could of used in his Surgeon Music video.
Y. Is for the YEARS Al spent becoming more improved in his music.

* Impigrity is another word for speed/quickness.
* Logarithmotechny is the calculation of Logarithms.
* Vanmost means to be in front of.
* Xyster is a surgical instrument used to scrape bones.
