That looks really nice! Great choice, Emily! I like the embossed message. Classy.
Everyone who contributed to that should be proud.
I'd rather wait to post pics of my gift, until after Al gets it. I do have two pics that Meli has seen, plus, she has it in her freezer, so she's seen it in "real life". LOL!

4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:
"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11
So awesome!

I had to put a sign on the chocolate that says, "Do not eat unless your name is Alfred Matthew Yankovic!" The last think I need is my brother eating it after thinking it was for his birthday in July.

He probably won't, but I had to make sure, he has some creative excuses. "Well, you know, it was late and I can't read after 6pm, plus you know I can smell chocolate for 50 miles away..."
I wish you could come down here too, Patti!

Wow! The journal looks really nice! I'm sure Al will love it!
Well, it's about 9:00PM California time, Al's well into the show, and since I doubt he'll be lurking around here before he gets his gifts, I'm going to go ahead and post the pics of what I got him.
The card
I decided to do an origami card rather than the cross-stitch. I found some wrapping paper that had the same design as the gift bag, attached a piece of posterboard to the back, and wrote a short birthday message on it.
The game
I'm not sure why I thought this game would make a great gift for Al, but as soon as I saw it in a catalog, I knew I had to get it for him! It consists of two caps that have velcro strips on them and each section has a designated score. It comes with 3 balls that stick to the velcro and instructions for 3 different games you can play. I thought he and Nina might have fun playing with it and it might be a fun game to take on the road, too.
The t-shirt
Again, as soon as I saw this in a catalog, I knew I wanted to get it for Al! It's a cool shirt, done in the "classic" style similiar to the ones that came out in the 70's. My biggest concern was if it would fit, but I got an adult large and that's the size the FAQ section at the mothership says he wears so I'm keeping my fingers crossed on that one.
I can't wait to see the pics/video Meli takes of Al getting the gifts! I really hope he likes them! I'd love to be there but as long as they get to him, that's what's important!
