if u really think about none of his are really "originals"

most of his "originals" are styles
i wonder if the next album will be 2 cd's,
1 cd 4 the album
and another 4 the videos...?
Yes but Al writes the music and lyrics, so they are originals. Even though he calls them style parodies its all Al. And the band of course.

Well, they really ARE originals.

If you want to play the whole "none of them are REALLY 'originals'" then you could say the same thing about absolutely everything in the music world. Everything is influenced by something else. So in that sense, no one is original.

But I'm sure that's not what you were trying to say.

Everything Al does is Original. He has parodies, and they are his original parodies, no one else could come up with what he has, but everything else IS purely original, he just may not always hide the influences as well as everyone else does every time.

the bad thing about SOL was that a bunch of people did videos for the songs, when they shouldve done them before the album came out...

<_<

and about the "original" thing,
u guys ARE right, but if u listen to the songs, they are kinda like, take 'I'll Sua Ya', a bucnh of rage against the machine songs in one, but i do agree with u guys about
Jeffrey Dahmer rules!

About what?

I'm working on another school mstory, and the premsie is that Al's too tired to think of anybody to call up for Album 13 ("Gumma Umma") so he takes a nap, has a dream and can't leave the dream until he thinks up another idea for a song.

Get it??? "Gumma Umma???!?!? That probably means: "Hey, we're REALLY running out of ideas fo songs, help us" !!!!!!!!

Uhh, sorry, what?
Do you mean that they shouldn't have waited until the album was out to release the videos? or just that.....uhh...I'll stick with the first one!

I was actually real stoked when I heard that there was going to be music videos on SOL. In fact, I think that SOL had more time spent in my DVD player than it did in the CD player for a while there. As much as I loved the whole animated videos thing for the album, I would totally rather see a couple of live-action videos for the next album, and maybe an animated video or two. But it would be totally sweet if he could get those onto the extra features portion of the album if he has one. It was a bit frustrating that the White and Nerdy video wasn't ready with the album...

One thing i've been wondering is whether or not Al is going to keep up this streak of featuring those epic songs on his albums (i.e. Albuquerque)...I mean, he has had one on the past three, but that doesn't mean he is going to keep it up though. I have noticed that when Al sets a bar with one album, he usually carries through for the next too. The past three albums not only had epic lengthed songs on them, but the extra video content has continued to get longer and better. hmm....

good point, JD.

The next album will be released only on DVD. It will have a live video for every song, and they will all tie together in some epic story.

As long as it's not "Trapped in the Recording Studio" or something... :D

I think what they meant was DICYO and TItDT videos should have been done before the album, that way they couldve been included.

Well though that is very unlikely I have been thinking that Al could always do a Flaming Lips style parody.

you're a genius to understand that.
:P

You know what I would absolutely *love* to see? I want to see more than just a "Al In The Recording Studio" segment, but more of a "How a Weird Al Song Develops" kind of thing...maybe taking you from the writing process, to the early demo phase, to when he takes it to the band, and then to the final product...and I would love to see some bloopers during their studio takes...I mean, come ON, I'm SURE he messes up SOMETIMES!!! That would be a lot of fun to see.
