No offense at all. Last time we did a show with Al in Puyallup, it was the first time they had ever had troopers with them on stage, so none of us really knew how it would go. The rest of the troops and I worked out the dancing you saw us do last time, which was mostly just us going nuts during the chorus and being "serious" the rest of the time. None of us are dancers, so we each stuck to a specific move or two. :D

These days, Al and the band have become a lot more friendly with the 501st Legion (we even inducted Al with an honorary award last night). Since it's becoming a more regular occurence for them to have troopers, they've developed an actual routine for the song.

We had another one of our own little synchronized dance numbers cooked up for last night, but when we got to the show...we found out had a completely new one to learn. Clearly...we still need practice. By next time...we're going to be synched up like those Lord of the Dance guys. :D

Thanks for the reviews, everyone. joshee, how cool that you and your wife got to be onstage with Al! The award sounds awesome! I bet he was surprised, eh? Lookling forward to the pictures!
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

Hey Joshee were you the stormtrooper that had Al lay his head on their shoulder? Cause it was HILARIOUS!

No, I was the one on the other side of Vader...(and yes, I'm bummed out that wasn't me). :D

Al seemed surprised by the award. I read through this section all the time, so I know people give him lots of cool gifts, but yeah....he seemed like he liked it. It's a really nice looking laser etched thing and then a name badge like the ones we all wear, except it's gold. I think we took some pictures of both of those and I'll also have those up soon.

Regarding the show, another thing I couldn't get over last night is how much audience participation there was. I heard the floor seats were sold out and apparently this year, they all went to die hards, because that was a loud crowd.
We heard lots of singing along from where we were sitting.

I saw the Sacramento show last week, but our local crowd was even more amped up. I'm going to at least one more WA show to sit in the audience and enjoy the whole performance.

Yes the crowd was VERY into it! Even the grandstand people were singing along to the songs which wasn't the case in 2004. :o

And then to give Al a standing ovation for the ENTIRE encore was cool and I could tell by Al's face that he was surprised and enjoying it during Cell Phones and Albuquerque.

I want pictures of the award and such!! :P

Wonder why Ryan hasn't posted anything yet...

My wife and I were waiting in line for one of the roller coasters with a couple of friends and ended up getting separated. We got put into a car with two people that were also there for the concert.

As we were going up the first hill, we saw a sign that said keep your hands inside the car. My wife said "are you going to listen to the sign, or stand up instead?"

The other couple got the joke....and for a moment we were saying the words to the song, which was awesome. I also saw quite a few others with t-shirts at the show, so I think there were a lot of people who showed up just to see the show.

Best fair in the state. :D

It is a great fair! Wish it wasn't such a long drive from Oregon though... :P

AL! I want a concert date in Eugene after I head off to college there, okay?
