And if you're bringing in something like a backpack with your clipboards inside, put a notebook in front of them...this way it looks like you're just going to be taking notes for something, like a project or an article.
That sounds good - I guess they don't put them through the metal detector thingy. Your bags are, however, subject to search, so Greg, that's a good idea! I need to find my other Al things I bought off Ebay, just in case I manage to get something signed.

Do ya think the "Volunteer" shirt I have wrapped around my backpack is too obvious?

Two memorable rainy shows I can think of was Milwaukee Summerfest during RWS. It rained most of the day and night, there were tornado warnings. Al played for about 60 minutes starting at about 10 pm. What a trooper!

The other was Fresno, RWS again. It started drizzling lightly durning the show, but it finally started pouring during Bedrock Anthem and the show ended right there.

But you guys around here know that it will rain for 10 minutes and then stop.

Well, let me put it this way: when I set the metal detector off at the Ohio State Fair, one of the troopers took one look at my shirt and said, "Oh, you're here for the Weird Al show. You're harmless, go on in."

Yes, the OH Al fans are harmless...but the NJ ones....

It had always seemed to rain at Al shows that I had went to until going into Canada for a show. However, it only rained during the day for a little bit at a few and most were inside. However, my first show at King's Island on Poodle Hat it poured the rain right before the show. That led to covering everything up, and the delaying of the show for awhile. It actually helped, though, as it weeded out just the casual fans and the ones left were the hardcore fans that actually wanted to see the concert.

Meanwhile, a few of the rides were still running and I was able to take shelter under a concession stand top with some other Al fans. The indoor food places were a little far away.

So, even if it does rain, it doesn't really hurt anything..and just makes everything better with my experience.

I remember that night vividly. I was so stinking wet it felt great after a day in the sunshine.

Rain adds to the amibiance of the show :Y

I don't know about a motel but as far as I know King's Island has a kennel that can keep your dog for a day for $10.

Yeah I remember as ohio state fair my belt buckle set off the metal detector and the trooper asked if I had any bombs, guns, or knives. Well I had to give a no answer there, and he let me go. Are they expecting the real people with bombs, guns, and knives will have too high of morals to lie to the trooper?

Anyways very excited for the show, two more days.
