Yes, Al really was on the bus that drove off.
And I absolutely cannot speak for Al, the band, the handlers, the venue, or anyone at all apart from myself, but the decision to leave could have had something to do with the fact that his daughter was asleep on the bus and he wanted to get her to the hotel and/or that there was an unusually large group of pass-holders (35+) for this particular show.

Aha, so he was on. Thanks for the clearup, Whitney.
Yeah, the only reason I'd suspect anything is that Bermuda wasn't on with them, but that is more to suggest that he had his own matters to attend to.

Thanks for the reviews, everyone. Glad you all had a good time. NNY273000, weird about that old man. That does sound kinda creepy. hehe, I love when Al makes the crowd sing it better during Yoda. Always makes me laugh. Congrats to all those who got to meet Al. He's a sweetie.
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:
"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11
So awesome!

The band bus is black, the crew bus is the brightly colored one (yellow/orange).

Really, now?
I don't remember it being such in the Poodle Hat tour. I stand corrected.

I arrived midway through Close But No CIgar, and I had secuity directly behind me. I was also behind a video screen and next to a beam, so I left my camera in my purse and enjoyed the show.kaztaylor @ Aug 12 2007, 03:02 AM wrote: Whom did you run into? I couldn't find anybody! Hey, did anybody get photos? Jackie? Post 'em in the tour-photos topic if you did, ok?
(my concert report is forthcoming.)
I did end up sitting next to a woman who recognized me from Dave's site (I think this is what she said--she had my name, anyway!)
Karen, I think I saw you--I saw a woman in an orange Hawiian, at least, with kids, but I didn't get to check in here after I last posted until now!

I've never had the luck of seeing Al perform SLN before, but from what I've heard about the cheerleaders I was surprised at how well they performed.NNY273000 @ Aug 12 2007, 03:04 PM wrote: The two cheerleaders were probably the ones with the best routine I had seen. As most of us are aware, the usual case for the cheerleaders is that they just run around meeting Al and the band and enjoy free food and lazily think up a routine at the last minute (as so heavily implied by a lackluster routine). These girls had done a choreography that fit the music and wasn't thought up at the last moment. It's probably because the North Shore Music Theater often does theatrical performances by kids for kids (the two cheerleaders seemed to be minors...then again the Al-induced haze could be to blame if I'm wrong) and may have found the cheerleaders through past productions at the venue.
Not much to add to the great reviews already posted. I briefly met Dave and Jackie. Unfortunately, my AIH combined with a desperate need to pee and a babysitter waiting for us to hurry back home stripped me of what few social skills I have (I didn't even introduce my wife!)
Wishing you a Twisted Christmas and a Twisted New Year!

Actually--I think you met Christina--I hadn't caught up with Dave by the time you saw him. We had bought the last 3 tickets in the place, so we were all in single seats, and I arrived pretty late. Christina had wandered back to Dave by the time I caught back up with him.
I think I VERY briefly saw Mr. Rooney as I was making my way to Dave, and he was making his way away....
