Sorry I didn't meet you at this show weirdalgurl. Would've liked to.
And I just have to say, (long after the fact, of course) that I never saw anyone as dedicated to what they were doing as Linda was. You were right in front of me almost the whole time pre-show, and not once did you take a break from collecting signatures.
As for collecting sigs...yes, I was devoted to that, but it was also a bit self-serving. My nephew was driving me crazy! He's got ADHD, Autism, anxiety disorder and is diabetic. He worries about everything and asks questions non-stop. It literally took me all day to get ready for the concert, fixing up the badges, printing out petition pages, etc. I'm ashamed to say he got me so flustered and scatter-brained that I didn't get to take my shower...one of the reasons there is no picture of me posted. Al looked good, I, however, did NOT!
Can you say, "Photo-shop?"
So, was it dedication or "I need a break!" I claim to be a bad fan. I'm only geared up for Al around concert time. I don't spend nearly the amount of time most of the wowayers do, but when it's concert time - I get obsessed!
Anyway, the cake was made by my Aunt Marge. She makes a "crummy box cake" with buttercream icing. She's been doing it for about 30 years, I reckon. She's a wonderful artist, but claims that she can't come up with an original idea, but can copy and change designs. She's our family's Cake Queen. Any event, Margie does the cake and they're always beautiful! Her kids asked her to make all kinds of crazy cake pictures. It's always a delight when she takes the cover off. Doesn't every family have an "Aunt Margie?" I'm truly blessed! When Andrew asked for an "Al cake" I didn't think it would happen, but she always comes through! I'll be sure to tell her it was a hit with the forum as well!

I am the same way unfortunately. I keep telling myself I will do it differently, but I never do. *sigh*
They got some very high-definition photos there! If you felt the need to inventory the hairs on Al's head, you probably could from one of those closeups.
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.
