Just got my tickets.
Was hoping for the reserved seating upstairs, but wasn't avail on-line, so I called the box office, they said upstairs was reserved for people under 21, so they were not selling the reserved seats up there. However, it will be 1st come 1st serve, so hopefully I can snag a seat that night.

Woohoo! Glad I saw this topic this morning.

I have a feeling that's going to be a tough one. I bought my tickets at the box office today, and they marked two of my tickets for upstairs access only (under 21), but of course two more of us will want to be sitting upstairs with the kids, and I was told that was fine--we could do that--it's just that the kids would not be able to move down to the floor. So I'm really curious how many of those upstairs tickets they are going to sell. They must have a plan--maybe one half or 2/3 of the upstairs reserved for under 21? They can't fill the whole thing with under 21 tickets, or the over 21 guardians won't be able to be with them.

One thing is certain, we'll have to get there really, really early to get a place up there.

Call me lazy, but acquiring legal responsibility for a minor seems like too much effort just to be able to sit down at a Weird Al concert.

It's different, of course, if you already HAVE legal responsibility for a minor. In that case, grab all the opportunities to sit down that you can find. :P

the bummer is that other than the seats, there is not too many other places to see the show from upstairs.
and downstairs is always so crowded.
would love to be able to find a nice seat.

Well, if I can grab one of those 18-21 seats when I have the money, I'm THERE!!!
Man, this is so freaking cool!
House of Blues is about 13 minutes closer to me than Del Mar was, so I think I can go. October 13th is long enough to get the money, and it's close enough to by birthday.
Man, I'm excited. That'll be really cool if I get to go.
I didn't even think there'd be another concert close by this soon. I was expecting to have to wait until 2008, when there was a chance for Al to be at the SDSU Open Air Theater.
Silence will fall.

Hmph,

I got tickets at the house of blues website... didn't realize till after I purchased the tickets that it was General Audience and standing only...

Does anyone know how this works? Should I plan on getting to the Venu super freaking early or just take my chances? I guess I could call the House of Blues and ask their advice but I don't want to get screwed out of a good standing spot :)

Thanks for any advice you can give me...

I was at a HOB show in Atlantic City. I recommend either getting there super freaking early (with NO camera or other contraband; the security in AC should have been reassigned to Air Force One) or else trying to grow several inches taller between now and the concert date.
